Ribozyme-activated mRNA trans-ligation enables large gene delivery to treat muscular dystrophies.

Ribozymes are small catalytic RNA sequences capable of nucleotide-specific self-cleavage found widespread in nature. Ribozyme cleavage generates distinct 2',3'-phosphate and 5'-hydroxyl termini that resemble substrates for recently characterized RNA repair pathways in cells. We report that ribozyme cleavage of two separate mRNAs activated their scarless trans-ligation and translation into full-length protein in eukaryotic cells, a process that we named StitchR (for Stitch RNA).

Mini-implant assisted orthodontic correction of lip and occlusal cant of a young adult: A case report.

Patients seek orthodontic treatment to correct unesthetic and asymmetric smiles because even a minimal cant of 4 is well perceived by a layperson. This case report describes a nonsurgical orthodontic management of iatrogenic occlusal canting in a 22-year-old female, who developed it during a previous orthodontic treatment for an impacted canine. The iatrogenic cant was corrected by the intrusion of the left mandibular segment followed by extrusion of left maxillary segment using mini-implants.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and cost-effectiveness of the dental models 3D printed in vertical and horizontal orientation as compared to the conventional plaster and digital models.

Methods: This study involved scanning 50 plaster models using Maestro 3D Desktop Scanner (AGE Solutions, Pisa, Italy). The STL file obtained from the scanner was processed and three-dimensionally (3D) printed in the horizontal and vertical orientation using a PolyJet 3D printer (Objet 30 prime, Stratasys Ltd.

Atrial Fibrillation Secondary to Levothyroxine Overdose with Underlying Secondary Infection.

This case report presents the clinical course and management of a 62-year-old female patient with atrial fibrillation (AF) secondary to levothyroxine overdose along with an underlying secondary infection. The patient was admitted with sudden onset dyspnea, altered sensorium, and neurological deficits. Upon examination, she exhibited tachycardia, irregular heart sounds, and extensive crepitations in the respiratory system.

Diagnostic Imageology of Goldenhar Syndrome: Report of a Rare Case.

Goldenhar syndrome is a rare disorder that normally affects just one side and is distinguished by a variety of anomalies in internal organs, vertebrae, and craniofacial tissues. Although this sickness varies genetically and has been linked to a variety of factors, its etiology is unknown. We describe a case of hemifacial microsomia linked with Goldenhar syndrome that was clinically and radiographically investigated using cone-beam computed tomography.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak continues to place a significant strain on healthcare systems, economies, and patient management. Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is an unwarranted problem and has been a scourge in the treatment of tuberculosis (TB) infection in general and children in particular. Usually, when the Antituberculosis treatment (ATT) regime is temporarily interrupted and modified, DILI subsides, and the whole treatment can be completed under supervision. We report a case of ATT-induced DILI not improving despite modification in the ATT regime, which ultimately led to the revealing of a yet unreported constellation of syndromes that included Wilson Disease, 46 XX gonadal dysgenesis, and Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser (MRKH) Syndrome.
