Seven previously undescribed preurianin-type limonoids, namely paraxylines A-G, and three known analogs were isolated from stem bark of Dysoxylum parasiticum. The structures, including absolute configurations, were established through spectroscopic analyses, quantum chemical calculations using the density functional theory method, as well as the DP4+ algorithm. Paraxylines A-G were identified as the first preurianin-type with full substitution at C, D-rings, leading to the highly oxygenated seco-limonoids skeleton.

Frequency, distribution and prognostic meaning of ALK-partner genes other than NPM1 in ALK-positive anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALCL) are unknown. Previous studies have indicated that mHtt may lead to abnormal iron homeostasis by upregulating the expression of iron response protein 1 (IRP1) in the striatum and cortex of N171-82Q HD transgenic mice, as well as in HEK293 cells expressing the N-terminal fragment of mHtt containing 160 CAG repeats. Non-invasive brain stimulation techniques have been exploited in motor neuron disease (MND) with multifold objectives: to support the diagnosis, to get insights in the pathophysiology of these disorders and, more recently, to slow down disease progression. In this review, we consider how neuromodulation can now be employed to treat MND, with specific attention to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the most common form with upper motoneuron (UMN) involvement, taking into account electrophysiological abnormalities revealed by human and animal studies that can be targeted by neuromodulation techniques. This review article encompasses repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation methods (including low-frequency, high-frequency, and pattern stimulation paradigms), transcranial direct current stimulation as well as experimental findings with the newer approach of trans-spinal direct current stimulation.
