Radiomics based on brain-to-tumor interface enables prediction of metastatic tumor type of brain metastasis: a proof-of-concept study.

Background: Early and accurate identification of the metastatic tumor types of brain metastasis (BM) is essential for appropriate treatment and management.

Methods: A total of 450 patients were enrolled from two centers as a primary cohort who carry 764 BMs originated from non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC, patient = 173, lesion = 187), small cell lung cancer (SCLC, patient = 84, lesion = 196), breast cancer (BC, patient = 119, lesion = 200), and gastrointestinal cancer (GIC, patient = 74, lesion = 181). A third center enrolled 28 patients who carry 67 BMs (NSCLC = 24, SCLC = 22, BC = 10, and GIC = 11) to form an external test cohort.

The mixed dentition stage is the period between primary and permanent dentition. The following biological processes are complicated and variable: jaw growth, development of inherited permanent teeth embryo, physiological absorption of primary teeth, restoration of surrounding alveolar bones, and growth and function establishment of soft tissues. For the normal development of the jaw, the establishment of the good occlusion relationship, development, and function of soft tissue is very important, whether or not the primary teeth are normally replaced by the permanent teeth in the mixed dentition stage.

Sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) is a versatile orthognathic procedure for correcting mandibular deformities. Effects of collimated and focused low-intensity pulsed ultrasound stimulation on the mandible repair in rabbits.

Background: This study was to evaluate the effects of low-intensity collimated pulse ultrasound (LICU) and low-intensity focused-pulse ultrasound (LIFU) stimulation on the osteogenesis in the porous silicon carbide (SiC) scaffold implanted in the rabbit mandible.

METHODS： One hundred adolescents (54 females, 46 males) with scissor bite of premolars(70 were unilateral,30 were bilateral) were selected as experimental group between 2004 to 2017 from the Department of Orthodontics, Stomatological Hospital of China Medical University. Among them, 54 females served as female group, 46 males served as male group; 30 were bilateral and 70 were unilateral.
