Two quinidine-functionalized coumarin molecular probes have been synthesized and have been found to bind metal cations (Cd, Co, Cu, Fe, Hg, Ni, and Zn) with high affinity in organic-aqueous media (DMSO-HEPES). The chemodosimeters coordinate with the Zn ions in a two-to-one ratio (molecular probe : Zn) with a log  of 10.0 M.

First responders are at high risk for a range of co-occurring mental health conditions due to their repeated exposure to traumatic events. When first responders present for treatment, their complex presentation of symptoms including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) can prove challenging to differentiate for clinical purposes. Network analysis provides a means to identify the nuanced associations between the symptoms of these conditions and to identify groups of related symptoms.

Aminoboration of simple alkenes with nitrogen nucleophiles remains an unsolved problem in synthetic chemistry; this transformation can be catalyzed by palladium aminopalladation followed by transmetalation with a diboron reagent. However, this catalytic process faces inherent challenges with instability of the alkylpalladium(II) intermediate toward β-hydride elimination.
