Aim: To evaluate the presence of women on editorial boards and as authors in leading global endodontics journals from 2018 to 2023.

Methodology: The selection of journals was based on the impact factor from Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and CiteScore 2022, with criteria of JCR above 1 and CiteScore above 1.5.

Therapeutic Potential of Dimethyl Fumarate for the Treatment of High-Fat/High-Sucrose Diet-Induced Obesity.

Obesity is characterized by an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure that triggers abnormal growth of adipose tissues. Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) and its primary active metabolite, monomethyl fumarate (MMF), are Nrf2 activators and have been recognized as strategic antioxidants. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of MMF and DMF to interfere with adipogenesis and obesity, and identify the molecular mechanisms involved.

Unveiling the potential of pullulan in enhancing ketoprofen release from PHBV filaments.

In this study, sustainable poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) and pullulan (PUL)/PHBV filaments were prepared with ketoprofen for scaffold preparation. The research aimed evaluate the influence of pullulan in the filament properties, such as thermal, morphological, and biological behavior. These facts make this region a representative hotspot of the global sea level rise and the location of one of the global climate tipping points (thresholds in the Earth system whose changes may become irreversible, if exceeded). Understanding the climate evolution of the NAP, based on past evidences, may help infer its future scenario.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of users versus non-users: unveiling the influence of proton pump inhibitors on capecitabine efficacy in colorectal cancer.

Introduction: Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. The impact of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) on patients taking capecitabine, an oral fluoropyrimidine, remains uncertain, despite their use by 20 to 55% of cancer patients. We investigated how PPIs affect the effectiveness of capecitabine in treating colorectal cancer.

Changes in the Glittre-ADL test in patients with non-small cell lung cancer: Pre- and postoperative analysis after home-based rehabilitation: A preliminary study.

Background And Objective: Postoperative pulmonary rehabilitation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients following thoracic surgery can be an important strategy for restoring functional exercise capacity. This study aimed to evaluate the changes in the Glittre-ADL test (TGlittre) in patients with NSCLC undergoing thoracic surgery and early home-based pulmonary rehabilitation and, subsequently, to assess the associations of the test results with muscle strength and quality of life (QoL).

Methods: This observational study evaluated 18 patients with NSCLC before and after home-based pulmonary rehabilitation.

Aim: To investigate the development of dentinal microcracks resulting from the progressive enlargement of the buccal canals of maxillary molars with and without the MB2 canal employing instruments with the same tip and four different tapers.

Effects of intradialytic bicycle ergometer exercise on transcription factors NF-ĸB and Nrf2 in patients with chronic kidney disease: A randomized crossover clinical trial.

Purpose: To evaluate the effects of an intradialytic aerobic exercise training program on the expression of transcription factors nuclear factor κappa B (NF-κB) and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), related to inflammatory and antioxidant pathways, respectively, in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on hemodialysis.

Methods: This was a longitudinal, randomized clinical trial with a washout period and crossover performed with 33 patients randomized into two groups: Exercise (individualized intradialytic aerobic exercise on an adapted stationary exercise bike) three times per week for three months and control (without exercise). After the washout period (1 month), the exercise group became the control, and the other group performed the exercises for another three months.

Screening and treating STIs in partners is crucial for interrupting the transmission chain, and it is essential to identify factors that contribute to maintaining it. The objective of this study was to compare the intentions of men and women to adhere to the treatment for STIs diagnosed in their partner as well as the perception of partner adherence.

From Darwin's visit to nowadays, we analyzed the changes in species- and genus-level richness and turnover, equity, diversity, composition, as well as functional group and functional strategy dynamics over a 213-year historical series of the seaweed assemblage from Rio de Janeiro Bay. We developed new analysis methods to serve as a protocol for worldwide functional and bioindicator assessment of seaweed assemblages. Over the two centuries of changes tracked, the integration of taxonomic, functional group, and functional strategy analyses unraveled a trajectory of seaweed assemblage restructuring under human disturbance.

This study showcases the "Prison System: Beyond the Walls" educational pathway, available on the Virtual Learning Environment of the Brazilian National Health System (AVASUS).

Visceral adipose tissue, epicardial fat, and hepatic steatosis in polycystic ovary syndrome: a study of ectopic fat stores and metabolic dysfunction.

Purpose: In polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ectopic fat accumulation remains debatable. Therefore, intra-abdominal, hepatic, and epicardial fat were compared between PCOS women and body mass index (BMI)-matched controls and their associations with metabolic and hormonal parameters were explored. Furthermore, the performance of echocardiographic epicardial adipose tissue thickness (EATT) and hepatic steatosis measurement using transient elastography-based controlled attenuation parameter (TE-CAP) in screening abdominal visceral adipose tissue (VAT) was originally evaluated.

The distribution of seaweed forms and foundational assumptions in seaweed biology.

Seaweeds are the most phylogenetically diverse group of multicellular organisms and rank foremost among marine keystone species. Due to their taxonomic diversity and functional importance, previous studies have classified seaweeds into functional groups based on qualitative or semi-quantitative traits, such as seaweed form, anatomy, and thickness. Despite the widespread use of seaweed functional groups from basic marine ecology to coastal monitoring, it is not known how accurate such morphology-based proposals are in grouping seaweeds by their form.

Four years of the COVID-19 pandemic: how does Brazil deal with the impacts? A DOHaD perspective.

Over the last few years, during the pandemic, the Brazilian population has suffered several problems, ranging from health to socioeconomic impacts. When we consider Brazilian science, there has been an undeniable scientific delay generated by the pandemic, especially in areas that are not related to the coronavirus. In this context, with the aim of fostering collaboration among researchers in the field of Developmental Origins of Health and Diseases (DOHaD) and enhancing the potential for implementing public health strategies to prevent noncommunicable chronic diseases, the Brazilian Association of Developmental Origins of Health and Diseases (DOHaD Brazil) was established in 2020.
