Objective: To determine the change in aqueous humor interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels among primary open-angle glaucoma (GPAA) patients.

Methods: Studies that investigated IL-6 level in the aqueous humor in GPAA patients using the detección methods of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) y multiplex bead immunoassay were retrieved. A meta-analysis was performed a determine the overall change in IL-6 of GPAA patients compared a controls.

Attention has been largely focused on the association between genetic variants of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα, ESR1) with dementia, although several studies indicate that ERβ is predominantly expressed in the brain. Background: Extensive research on the link between the organizational characteristics of the work environment and patient safety in a healthcare organization has been conducted; yet, only a few studies have concentrated on care providers in a pediatric unit.

Objectives: To determine the correlation between different work environment factors impacting patient safety in a pediatric care unit from the perspective of registered nurses working in these units.

Background We investigated whether 10-gingerol is able to induce oxidative stress in cumulus cells. Methods For the in-vitro research, we used a cumulus cell culture in M199, containing 10-gingerol in various concentrations (0, 12, 16, and 20 µM), and detected oxidative stress through superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) concentrations, with incubation periods of 24, 48, 72, and 96 h. The obtained results were confirmed by in-silico studies.

DSSC has relatively inexpensive fabrication costs, is easy to produce, works in visible light, and is environmentally friendly. The disadvantage of DSSC is that its efficiency is still low compared to silicon solar cells.

Corrosion Inhibition of Honeycomb Waste Extracts for 304 Stainless Steel in Sulfuric Acid Solution.

The extract of honeycomb waste was studied as a corrosion inhibitor on 304 stainless steel in HSO solutions. The honeycomb waste was obtained from beekeeping at Lawang-Malang, East Java, Indonesia. Electrochemical and scanning electron microscopy methods were used to investigate the performance of the corrosion inhibition process.

Microplastics in the surface sediments from the eastern waters of Java Sea, Indonesia.

This study aimed to investigate the abundance of microplastics in the eastern water of Java Sea. The study areas are well known for the high population and high industrial activities that can contribute to the plastic pollution. Microplastics were sampled from the surface sediments at five different stations representing different local activities: fish landing area (St 1), mangrove forest (St 2), abandoned shrimp pond (St 3), river mouth (St 4) and open sea (St 5).

One-Dimensional-Like Titania/4'-Pentyl-4-Biphenylcarbonitrile Composite Synthesized Under Magnetic Field and its Structure-Photocatalytic Activity Relationship.

The demonstration of the structure-properties relationship of shape-dependent photocatalysts remains a challenge today. Herein, one-dimensional (1-D)-like titania (TiO), as a model photocatalyst, has been synthesized under a strong magnetic field in the presence of a magnetically responsive liquid crystal as the structure-aligning agent to demonstrate the relationship between a well-aligned structure and its photocatalytic properties. The importance of the 1-D-like TiO and its relationship with the electronic structures that affect the electron-hole recombination and the photocatalytic activity need to be clarified.

Coastal and estuarine ecosystems provide numerous economic and environmental benefits to society. Development of a Sequential Injection Analysis System for the Determination of Saccharin.

Saccharin is a powerfully sweet nonnutritive sweetener that has been approved for food-processing applications within the range of 100-1200 mg/kg. A simple, rapid, and cost-effective sequential injection analysis (SIA) technique was developed to determine the saccharin level. This method is based on the reaction of saccharin with p-chloranil in an ethanol medium with a hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) acceleration, and the resultant violet-red compound was detected using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at λ = 420 nm.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Acalypha indica is an herbal plant that grows in wet, temperate and tropical region, primarily along the earth's equator line. This plant is considered by most people as a weed and can easily be found in these regions. Although this plant is a weed, Acalypha indica has been acknowledged by local people as a useful source of medicine for several therapeutic treatments.
