[Comparative assesement of postoperative quality of life in patients with ulcerative colitis].

Objective: To compare quality of life in patients undergoing proctocolectomy with ileal pouch procedure and ileostomy taking into account sexual function.

Material And Methods: The comparative observational study included 138 patients with ulcerative colitis for the period 2013-2018. All patients underwent surgery with one- or two-stage formation of pelvic pouch (=76) or ileostomy (=62).

Resection of the rectum and total excision of the internal anal sphincter with smooth muscle plasty and colonic pouch for treatment of ultralow rectal carcinoma.

Background: Intersphincteric resection can provide tumour-free margins for rectal tumours located 0-1 cm above the dentate line. However, the internal anal sphincter (IAS) is partially or totally resected and some degree of anal incontinence may develop. A novel technique of smooth muscle plasty of the IAS and colonic pouch construction is described, along with an assessment of morbidity, oncological results and functional outcome.

[Clinikomorphological features of complicated colon diverticulosis].

Sequence in the development of inflammatory complications was revealed: diverticulum perforation-peridiverticulitis-pericolitic infiltrate, sometimes with the abscess-fistula.
