Currently, the most widely used protocol for the transportation layer of computer networks for reliable transportation is the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). However, TCP has some problems such as high handshake delay, head-of-line (HOL) blocking, and so on. To solve these problems, Google proposed the Quick User Datagram Protocol Internet Connection (QUIC) protocol, which supports 0-1 round-trip time (RTT) handshake, a congestion control algorithm configuration in user mode.

WIth the introduction of "carbon peak and neutrality" targets, China's power industry is under enormous pressure to reduce carbon dioxide (CO) emissions, as it produces more than 40% of emissions. In response, China's power industry is actively reducing the investment in thermal energy and gradually shifting toward non-fossil energy sources. However, the CO reduction effect of these measures is still unknown.

Heat Strain Evaluation of Power Grid Outdoor Workers Based on a Human Bioheat Model.

Int J Environ Res Public Health

June 2022

School of Emergency Management and Safety Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing, Beijing 100083, China.

Power grid outdoor workers are usually exposed to hot environments and could suffer the threats to occupational health and safety like heat strain and injury. In order to predict and assess the thermophysiological responses of grid workers in the heat, the clothing thermal insulation of grid worker ensembles was measured by a thermal manikin and a multi-segment human bioheat model was employed to evaluate the thermophysiological response parameters of grid workers such as core temperature, skin temperature and sweat loss. The results show that working in a hot environment can cause a obvious increase in core temperature and skin temperature of grid workers, and the acceptable maximum working time of grid workers varies greatly in different hot environments.

School of Environment & Natural Resources, Renmin University of China, Beijing, 100872, China. Electronic address:

Coal-fired heating in winter is a primary source of air pollution in many countries. In northern China, the use of scattered coal for winter heating has led to severe environmental issues. In this study, we use a quasi-natural experiment in Shandong Province, China, to investigate the effectiveness of a cleaner heating transition policy.

Impact of Resource on Green Growth and Threshold Effect of International Trade Levels: Evidence from China.

Int J Environ Res Public Health

February 2022

School of Maritime Economics and Management, Dalian Maritime University, Dalian 116026, China.

International trade levels can change the relationship between resource endowments and green economic growth. Therefore, this study tested the resource curse hypothesis from the perspective of green growth in China using provincial-level panel data for 2005-2017. Energy conservation and environmental improvement were considered under green growth to further analyze the regional mechanism of the resource curse.

Solar power generation intermittency and aggregation.

Sci Rep

January 2022

Birmingham Energy Institute, University of Birmingham, Birmingham, B15 2TT, UK.

The inherent intermittency of solar power due to diurnal and seasonal cycles has usually resulted in the need for alternative generation sources thereby increasing system operation costs. However, when solar power is spread over a large geographical area with significant time differences, the intermittency can be significantly reduced and also the electricity market balancing cost. The aim of this article is to address the fundamental scientific question on how the intermittency of solar power generation is affected by aggregation, which is of great interest in the wider power and energy community and would have profound impacts on the solar energy integration into the energy supply and Net-Zero Implementation.

Does the "Blue Sky Defense War Policy" Paint the Sky Blue?-A Case Study of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, China.

Int J Environ Res Public Health

November 2021

School of Environment and Natural Resources, Renmin University of China, Beijing 100872, China.

Improving air quality is an urgent task for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) region in China. In 2018, utilizing 365 days' daily concentration data of six air pollutants (including PM, PM, SO, NO, CO and O) at 947 air quality grid monitoring points of 13 cities in the BTH region and controlling the meteorological factors, this paper takes the implementation of the Blue Sky Defense War (BSDW) policy as a quasi-natural experiment to examine the emission reduction effect of the policy in the BTH region by applying the difference-in-difference method. Results show that the policy leads to the significant reduction of the daily average concentration of PM, PM, SO, O by -1.

Age-Aware Utility Maximization in Relay-Assisted Wireless Powered Communication Networks.

Entropy (Basel)

September 2021

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Maryland at College Park, College Park, MD 20742, USA.

This article investigates a relay-assisted wireless powered communication network (WPCN), where the access point (AP) inspires the auxiliary nodes to participate together in charging the sensor, and then the sensor uses its harvested energy to send status update packets to the AP. An incentive mechanism is designed to overcome the selfishness of the auxiliary node. In order to further improve the system performance, we establish a Stackelberg game to model the efficient cooperation between the AP-sensor pair and auxiliary node.

As municipal solid waste severely threatens human health and the ecological environment, since 2019, China has started to fully practice MSW sorting in all prefecture-level cities. In this paper, we apply the event study and difference-in-difference methods to investigate how China's green policy of promoting MSW sorting influences listed waste sorting companies from the perspective of investors' short-term and long-term reactions. This paper finds that investors are not sensitive to the introduction of MSW sorting in the short term, the new environmental policy does not relieve the financing constraints of related enterprises in the long run, and the financing constraints of private enterprises are stricter than those of state-owned enterprises.

With the increasing demand for electricity transmission and distribution, single-phase grounding accidents, which cause great economic losses and casualties, have occurred frequently. In this study, a Bayesian network (BN)-based risk assessment model for representing single-phase grounding accidents is proposed to examine accident evolution from causes to potential consequences. The Bayesian network of single-phase grounding accidents includes 21 nodes that take into account the influential factors of environment, management, equipment and human error.

December 2018

China Academy of Telecommunications Technology, Beijing 100191, China.

Wireless powered communication technology has a great potential to power low-power wireless sensor networks and Internet of Things (IoT) for real-time applications in future 5G networks, where age of information (AoI) plays a very important performance metric. This paper studies the system average AoI of a wireless powered network, where a wireless-powered user harvests energy from a wireless power source (WPS) and then transmits data packets to its access point (AP) by using the harvested energy. The user generates data packets with some probability and adopts the first-come-first-served (FCFS) service policy.

In order to diagnose transformer fault efficiently and accurately, a dynamic integrated fault diagnosis method based on Bayesian network is proposed in this paper. First, an integrated fault diagnosis model is established based on the causal relationship among abnormal working conditions, failure modes, and failure symptoms of transformers, aimed at obtaining the most possible failure mode. And then considering the evidence input into the diagnosis model is gradually acquired and the fault diagnosis process in reality is multistep, a dynamic fault diagnosis mechanism is proposed based on the integrated fault diagnosis model.
