Acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) in pregnancy poses a clinical challenge with significant risk to both mother and fetus. Anti-TNF alpha therapy is known to be safe in pregnancy, however, data surrounding outcomes in ASUC is limited. In this report, we present the case of a pregnant patient of 10 weeks' gestation with ASUC successfully managed with intensified and accelerated infliximab therapy for a total dose of 35 mg/kg during a single admission.

Background: Studies reporting on the incidence of sudden cardiac arrest and/or death (SCA/D) in athletes commonly lack methodological and reporting rigor, which has implications for screening and preventative policy in sport. To date, there are no tools designed for assessing study quality in studies investigating the incidence of SCA/D in athletes.
Methods And Results: The International Criteria for Reporting Study Quality for Sudden Cardiac Arrest/Death tool (IQ-SCA/D) was developed following a Delphi process.
Introduction And Objectives: Renal calculi are a common medical problem with incidence rates calculated to be approximately 6%-9% in men & 3%-4% in women worldwide. Incidence appears to be increasing. This study compares emergency presentations and unplanned readmissions between extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) and pyeloscopic stone treatment in the population of Victoria, Australia after 1-year follow-up.

Methods: Twenty young adults with T1D were enrolled from a tertiary referral hospital outpatient department in Melbourne, Australia for a 6-week prospective observational study using flash glucose monitoring (FGM). Glucometrics comparing substance using days (SUEDs) to those without substance use (non-SUEDS) were analysed.

Medical conditions with effective therapies are usually managed with objective measurement and therapeutic targets. Parkinson's disease has effective therapies, but continuous objective measurement has only recently become available. This blinded, controlled study examined whether management of Parkinson's disease was improved when clinical assessment and therapeutic decisions were aided by objective measurement.

Method: We designed an adaptor using computer aided software to connect an iPhone XS to an Olympus Rhino-Laryngo Fibre Scope. We experimented with various 3D printing materials and iterative designs to create a case that allowed for quality recording of a nasolaryngoscope exam using the iPhone's built in ×2 telescopic zoom lens.

Although tobacco smoking is very common among people with schizophrenia and has devastating effects on health, strategies to ameliorate the risk are lacking. Some studies have reported promising results yet quit rates are much lower than in the general population. There is a need to advance research into smoking cessation efforts among people with schizophrenia.
