Unlabelled: Asymmetric crying facies (ACF) due to Congenital hypoplasia of the depressor anguli oris muscle (CHDAOM) is a rare congenital condition that affects the development of a specific facial muscle responsible for depressing the corner of the mouth. CHDAOM has an unknown aetiology but is associated with other genetic syndromes like DiGeorge syndrome and Cayler cardiofacial syndrome. We report a distinct case of a newborn with unilateral asymmetric crying facies at our hospital, and clinical features, examination, and management of the above condition.

Accurate histopathological diagnosis of any tumour is imperative because of variable prognostic and clinical implications. Basaloid squamous cell carcinoma (BSCC) is a rare distinctive histological variant of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) exhibiting an aggressive clinical course and poor prognosis. The advanced stage of presentation is speculatively responsible for this biological behaviour which is manifested by development of metastasis and subsequently poor survival.

Unlabelled: The Public Report on Health (PRoH) was initiated in 2005 to understand public health issues for people from diverse backgrounds living in different region specific contexts. States were selected purposively to capture a diversity of situations from better-performing states and not-so-well performing states. Based on these considerations, six states - the better-performing states of Tamil Nadu (TN), Maharashtra (MH) and Himachal Pradesh (HP) and the not-so-well performing states of Madhya Pradesh (MP), Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Orissa (OR) - were selected.
