Rationale: Early mortality in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is due to hematoma volume (HV) expansion, and there are no effective treatments available other than reduction in blood pressure. Tranexamic acid (TXA) a hemostatic drug that is widely available and safe can be a cost-effective treatment for ICH, if proven efficacious.
Hypothesis: Administration of TXA in ICH patients when given within 4.

Surgical treatment of OSA has emerged as an effective alternative in continuos positive airway pressure (CPAP)-non-compliant group of patients. The present study examines the outcomes following a combination of barbed palatopharyngoplasty (BPP) and endoscopic coblator-assisted midline partial glossectomy in patients with multilevel obstruction of palate, oropharyngeal walls, and tongue base. A retrospective study of 40 patients with predominant obstruction at the velum, oropharyngeal lateral walls, and base of tongue levels, who underwent Barbed Palato Pharyngoplasty and Endoscopic coblator-assisted tongue base resection.

Introduction: ACL tears are the most common injuries in kabaddi, an inherently violent high pivoting and high-velocity direct contact sport. Combined ACL and MCL injuries and combined ACL and ALL injuries have been better understood but there is a lacuna of literature on these combined injuries in kabaddi players and no literature on combined AMRI and ALRI injuries. The present prospective cohort study aims to assess knee outcomes and return to sport for these injuries in elite kabaddi players.

Purpose: To examine the effects of first-trimester HbA1c (HbA1c-FT) ≥ 37 mmol/mol on preterm birth (PTB) and large-for-gestational-age (LGA) babies in a retrospective cohort of South Asian pregnant women with gestational diabetes (GDM).
Methods: The cohort (n = 686) was separated into two groups based on HbA1c-FT values: Group A (n = 97) and Group B (n = 589), with values of 37-46 mmol/mol (5.5-6.

Introduction: Palliative radiotherapy (PRT) is frequently used to treat symptoms of advanced cancer, however benefits are questionable when life expectancy is limited. The 30-day mortality rate after PRT is a potential quality indicator, and results from a recent meta-analysis suggest a benchmark of 16% as an upper limit. In this population-based study from Queensland, Australia, we examined 30-day mortality rates following PRT and factors associated with decreased life expectancy.

Despite several global resolutions to reduce traffic injuries, they have continued to grow in many countries.

Introduction: Stroke rehabilitation guidelines promoteclinical decision making, enhance quality of healthcare delivery, minimize healthcare costs, and identify gaps in current knowledge to guide future research. However, there are no published reviews that have exclusively evaluated the quality of existing Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) for stroke rehabilitation from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) or provided any insights into the cultural variation, adaptations, or gaps in implementation specific to LMICs.
Objectives: To identify CPGs developed by LMICs for stroke rehabilitation and evaluate their quality using AGREE-II and AGREE-REX tool.

Integrated management of childhood illness is a globally proven primary care strategy to improve child survival and is being implemented worldwide in countries with high burden of child mortality. Its implementation as Integrated Management of Newborn and Childhood Illness (IMNCI) in India has been challenging. The primary objective of the present work was to assess the feasibility, acceptability and use of an adapted Integrated E Diagnostic Approach (IeDA) that provides e-Learning and improved clinical practices of the primary level health service provider auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs) to deliver IMNCI services.

The World Health Organization (WHO) South East Asia Region (SEAR) comprises 11 countries, which are one of the most culturally, topographically, and socially diverse areas worldwide, undergoing an epidemiological transition towards non-communicable diseases, including stroke and other cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). This region accounts for over 40% of the global stroke mortality. Few well-designed population-based epidemiological studies on stroke are available from SEAR countries, with considerable variations among them.

The Southeast Asia Region (SEAR) accounts for nearly 50% of the developing world's stroke burden. With various commonalities across its countries concerning health services, user awareness, and healthcare-seeking behavior, SEAR still presents profound diversities in stroke-related services across the continuum of care. This review highlights the numerous systems and challenges in access to stroke care, acute stroke care services, and health care systems, including rehabilitation.

Surveillance of stroke is critical to track its burden and assess progress in prevention and treatment. We reviewed the literature to evaluate stroke surveillance efforts in the South-East Asia Region (SEAR) countries, identify progress and assess gaps. Epidemiological data on all the major parameters such as the incidence, prevalence and mortality of stroke were available for India and Thailand but for none of the other SEAR countries.

Introduction: Sepsis is a life-threatening condition. Nowadays, hospitals rely on laboratory parameters like CRP and procalcitonin to detect sepsis. There is a need to evaluate and validate more accurate and early predictors of sepsis in critically ill patients.

Objective: Electrolyte disorders are among the important conditions negatively affecting the disease course of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). Possible mechanisms may include renal tubular acidosis (RTA) accompanying Sjögren's syndrome (SS), syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH), and central diabetes insipidus (DI). Currently, the overlap profiles between these conditions remain uncertain.

Chronic mania is a mental health disorder that has been described by various psychiatrists in the past but currently is not a part of nosology. Robust epidemiological data for chronic mania are lacking with regard to its prevalence and clinical features. The present case report is of a 48-year-old male with a six-year history of mood and psychotic symptoms, based on which differential diagnoses of schizoaffective disorder (manic type), schizophrenia, and mania with psychotic symptoms (with chronic course) were made.

"Intermediate hyperglycemia in early pregnancy (IHEP)" refers to mild hyperglycemia detected before 24 gestational weeks (GW), satisfying the criteria for the diagnosis of gestational diabetes mellitus. Many professional bodies recommend routine screening for "overt diabetes" in early pregnancy, which identifies a significant number of women with mild hyperglycemia of undetermined significance. A literature search revealed that one-third of GDM women in South Asian countries are diagnosed before the conventional screening period of 24 GW to 28 GW; hence, they belong in the IHEP category.
