Background: Researchers are increasingly accessing scientific articles through unauthorized websites like Sci-Hub. Sci-Hub contains retracted articles, including those which are not labelled as retracted, and this is a potential threat to academic research.
Methods: This study analyses the extent of the availability of retracted articles within the Sci-Hub, particularly focusing on the presence of unlabeled retracted articles (URA) which may inadvertently be used in subsequent research, thus propagating flawed findings.

A synthesis of a small library of fluorescent 1,4-dihydropyridine nucleoside analogues has been successfully carried out under solvent-free conditions a one-pot three-component Hantzsch condensation reaction. The process involved a Ba(NO) catalyzed solvent-free reaction between 3',5'-di--acetyl-5-formyl-2'-deoxyuridine, differently substituted β-keto ester and ammonium acetate under microwave irradiation. This facile methodology yielded the desired products with very high yields (86-96%) under solvent-free reaction conditions in a short reaction time, which was followed by a simple workup.

The response of mesozooplankton is critical in assessing the health of an estuarine ecosystem. Reports on the spatial and temporal dynamics of mesozooplankton community in estuarine and backwaters of the Southern parts of India are scanty. In this scenario, we appraised the community structure of mesozooplankton and their spatio-temporal dynamics based on various multivariate statistical assessments.

Introduction: Public safety personnel (PSP) experience operational stress injuries (OSIs), which can put them at increased risk of experiencing mental health and functional challenges. Such challenges can result in PSP needing to take time away from the workplace. An unsuccessful workplace reintegration process may contribute to further personal challenges for PSP and their families as well as staffing shortages that adversely affect PSP organizations.

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as promising tools for crafting polymeric materials across diverse domains. This study delves into the impact of a series of DESs on the phase behavior of poly(-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) in aqueous environments, presenting compelling insights into their performance. Specifically, we explore the conformational phase behavior of PNIPAM in the presence of four distinct lactic acid (LA)-based DESs: LA-betaine (LA-BET), LA-proline (LA-PRO), LA-choline chloride (LA-CC), and LA-urea (LA-U).

The increasing oxidative stress demands potential chemical compounds derived from natural resources with good antioxidant activity to overcome adverse health issues. In this context, we investigated the antioxidant properties of four dibenzopyrone phenolic compounds obtained from the endophytic fungus : altenusin, altenusin B, alterlactone, and dehydroaltenusin using DFT calculations. Our investigation focused on understanding the structure-antioxidant property relationship.

Forensic entomology To elucidate the time of death based on insect evidence, there are several studies on forensic entomology on life cycles, environmental factors, and feeding habitats of insects. However, there have not been any comprehensive studies on forensic entomology and its usage in forensic inquiry specific to the region, especially Kerala, India. The insect succession on decomposed animal matter plays an important role in estimating minimum postmortem intervals (mPMI).

In this study, we present the synthesis and characterization of AgNPs using along with an assessment of their antioxidant, antibacterial, and antidiabetic activities. Antibacterial activities using four bacterial strains, free radical scavenging assays (DPPH and ABTS), and carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzyme inhibition assays were done to examine the therapeutic efficacy of AgNPs. Additionally, herein, we also evaluated the biocompatibility of the AgNPs using hemoglobin (Hb) as a model protein.

A new highly emissive pH-responsive near-IR active digital probe was designed and synthesized. The probe is based on a bisbenzothiazole motif with a highly vulnerable hydrogen unit attached in an intramolecular fashion. The probe produced a large Stokes shift which was observed to be highly pH dependent.

Background: Nurses are engaged in an unpredictable and dynamic work environment where they are exposed to events that may cause or contribute to physical and/or psychological injuries. Operational stress injury (OSI) may lead to an extended time away from work or nurses leaving the profession altogether. A deliberate focus on the workplace reintegration phase of the mental health recovery process may lead to the increased retention of nurses in their profession.

Bio-inspired molecular-engineered systems have been extensively investigated for the half-reactions of H O oxidation or CO reduction with sacrificial electron donors/acceptors. However, there has yet to be reported a device for dye-sensitized molecular photoanodes coupled with molecular photocathodes in an aqueous solution without the use of sacrificial reagents. Herein, we will report the integration of Sn - or Al -tetrapyridylporphyrin (SnTPyP or AlTPyP) decorated tin oxide particles (SnTPyP/SnO or AlTPyP/SnO ) photoanode with the dye-sensitized molecular photocathode on nickel oxide particles containing [Ru(diimine) ] as the light-harvesting unit and [Ru(diimine)(CO) Cl ] as the catalyst unit covalently connected and fixed within poly-pyrrole layer (RuCAT-RuC -PolyPyr-PRu/NiO).

Background: Exposure to trauma and potentially morally injurious events may lead to moral injury (MI). The link between MI and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may have particularly relevant implications for treatment-resistant PTSD (TR-PTSD). Multi-modal Motion-Assisted Memory Desensitization and Reconsolidation (3MDR), a technology-assisted exposure-based trauma therapy that has been used in the treatment of PTSD, may also be an acceptable modality for patients in the treatment of TR-PTSD and MI.
