Steroid-Refractory Lichenoid Eruption Associated with Pembrolizumab in a Patient with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

Programmed cell death receptor 1 (PD-1) inhibitors are promising and effective treatments for various cancers. Cutaneous adverse events, such as lichenoid drug eruptions, are well-known common side effects associated with PD-1 inhibitors. Lichenoid drug eruptions associated with PD-1 inhibitors show rapid improvement with high potency topical steroids and do not require cessation of the offending drug.

Large Middle Cerebral Artery Ischemic Stroke in a Therapeutically Anticoagulated Patient With Severe SARS-CoV-2 Infection.

Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is associated with hypercoagulability which can predispose infected patients to both arterial and venous thromboembolic complications. Despite therapeutic anticoagulation, there remains a risk of ischemic strokes, which may lead to adverse patient outcomes. Only a few cases are described in the literature regarding SARS-CoV-2 positive patients developing thrombotic ischemic strokes despite therapeutic anticoagulation.

Late Feeding Tube Dependency in Head and Neck Cancer Patients Treated with Definitive Radiation Therapy and Concurrent Systemic Therapy.

Objective The study aimed to evaluate the impact of late swallowing dysfunction leading to percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube dependence on the overall survival (OS) in a cohort of locally advanced head and neck cancer patients treated and cured with definitive radiotherapy (RT) and concurrent systemic therapy (CST).  Materials and methods A total of 62 patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer were included in the analysis based on the following selection criteria: stage III, IVA, or IVB disease, treated with definitive RT and CST, no major head and neck surgery, no evidence of local or distant recurrent disease, and at least one post-RT modified barium swallow study. Patients were classified as PEG dependent or PEG independent at the time of the last follow-up.

Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a condition that results from the compression of the neurovascular bundle of the upper extremities. It has generally been divided into neurogenic and vascular TOS with vascular further being divided into venous and arterial. This case report is of a healthy 24-year-old female who was misdiagnosed initially in an emergency department only to return two days later for reevaluation.

Early Repolarization vs. Acute Pericarditis Morphology: A Case Report of Electrocardiographic Mimicry.

A 27-year-old male presented to the outpatient clinic with a two-week history of daily episodes of palpitations, chest pain, and shortness of breath. He also complained of fatigue and nausea that continued after he recovered from an upper respiratory infection (URI) one month prior. Of note, he described the chest pain as increasing in intensity when sitting or standing upright.

Demographics and Length of Stay for Osteomyelitis in Opioid Drug Users: A Unique Population with High Healthcare Costs.

Risk factors include, but are not limited to, diabetes and intravenous drug use. The hypotheses for the primary objectives of this study were that the opioid epidemic would cause a younger population of patients to be seen with osteomyelitis and the treatment for this population has special considerations including longer hospitalization for proper intravenous antibiotics.

Association of Human Papillomavirus Vaccine With the Development of Keratinocyte Carcinomas.

Importance: Keratinocyte carcinomas (KCs), consisting of squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) and basal cell carcinomas (BCCs), are the most common human malignant neoplasms. Many impotent patients treat erectile dysfunction with injected vasoactive drugs like papaverine, phentolamine and PGE-1. However, many patients fear using needles and the possible side effects from injections are well known (pain, ecchymosis, priapism, fibrosis of corpora cavernosa).
