Clinical empathy is the ability to understand the patient's experience, communicate that understanding, and act on it. There is evidence that patient and physician benefits are associated with more empathic communications. These include higher patient and physician satisfaction, improved quality of life, and decreased professional burnout for physicians, as well as increased patient compliance with care plans.

A dramatic bradycardia is induced by underwater submersion in vertebrates. The location of parasympathetic preganglionic cardiac motor neurons driving this aspect of the diving response was investigated using cFos immunohistochemistry combined with retrograde transport of cholera toxin subunit B (CTB) to double-label neurons. After pericardial injections of CTB, trained rats voluntarily dove underwater, and their heart rates (HR) dropped immediately to 95 ± 2 bpm, an 80% reduction.

How Safe is Eptifibatide during Urgent Carotid Artery Stenting?

Background: Glycoprotein IIB/IIIA inhibitors are occasionally utilized during carotid artery stenting (CAS) in the presence or absence of a visualized intra-operative thrombus.

Hemangioma of the scrotal septum: a rare entity in infants with review of the literature.

Hemagiomas are most common tumors in infancy; however, scrotal septum hemangiomas are very rare with only 45 cases reported in the literature. We report a case of a 6-month-old child who presented with a scrotal mass at birth which had increased in size with age. A scrotal ultrasound with color doppler analysis, revealed a soft tissue mass with diffusely increased blood flow.
