Background: Neutropenia and febrile neutropenia (FN) are serious complications of myelosuppressive chemotherapy and present a considerable burden to patients with cancer. Febrile neutropenia is associated with increased risks of infection and hospitalization, a particular concern during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Oncology nurses and advanced practice providers (APPs; including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and pharmacists) play a vital role in the management of patients with cancer and the prevention of infections.

Background: The PanaMa trial aimed to compare the efficacy of 5-fluorouracil and folinic acid (FU/FA) ± panitumumab maintenance in untreated wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients.
Methods: In this final phase 2 trial analysis, adult mCRC patients responding to six cycles of FU/FA, oxaliplatin and panitumumab were randomized (1:1, open-label) to maintenance of either FU/FA + panitumumab or FU/FA alone. The primary endpoint was superiority of progression-free survival of maintenance (PFS; time from random assignment to progression/death) in favour of FU/FA + panitumumab.

Objective: As the number of women in medical training rises, there has been increased interest in understanding the perspectives of minority women. Although Muslim women face unique challenges in pursuing medical training, there are no current studies dedicated to understanding the experience of Muslim women as healthcare professionals. This study aims to present insight into perspectives of United States-based Muslim women physicians, residents, and medical students on discrimination and allyship, the operating room environment, mentorship, and institutional resources.

Purpose: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological disorder affecting almost 2.8 million people globally, approximately 80-85% of whom have the relapsing-remitting form of the disease (RRMS). There are several autoinjectors available for the administration of injectable disease-modifying therapies for the treatment of MS.

A risk-stratified treatment approach to MCD based on Rituximab immunotherapy for mild cases and chemo-immunotherapy for severe cases has been shown to yield excellent outcomes in PLWH. In contrast, HLH disease, previously known as secondary HLH, has a dismal prognosis even when promptly treated according to guidelines.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is classically characterized by alterations in memory consolidation. With the advent of diagnostic biomarkers, some patients clinically diagnosed with AD display biomarkers inconsistent with the diagnosis.
Objective: We aimed to explore differences in memory consolidation and neurodegeneration of the temporal and parietal lobes as a function of amyloid-β status in amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI).

Background: In 2021, the EAU Guidelines implemented a novel, expert opinion-based follow-up scheme, with a three-risk-category system for clear cell (cc) and non-cc renal cell carcinoma (non-ccRCC) after surgery with curative intent. We aimed to validate the novel follow-up scheme and provide data-driven recurrence estimates according to risk groups, to confirm or implement the oncologic surveillance strategy.
Methods: We identified 5,320 patients from a prospectively maintained database involving 28 French referral centers.
Introduction: An emergency department (ED) resident believed ED patients, who needed a simple laceration repair, would be better served if the ED used a laceration cart for supplies, as opposed to the hunt-and-gather method for collecting needed supplies. To address this issue, a two-step Plan-Do-Study-Act/Patient-Safety quality improvement (PDSA/PS QI) project was initiated, with the intent that the project could be completed in a timely manner regardless of staffing levels. The primary purpose of the project was two-fold: 1) to explore the possible time-to-repair benefits of using a laceration repair supply cart in the emergency department and 2) to determine the feasibility of conducting a simple multi-cycle PDSA/PS QI project in a potential staffing-shortage environment.

Background: This retrospective study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the demographics, survival rates, and therapeutic approaches of small-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SCNEC) and large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) while highlighting key differences compared to common urinary bladder cancers.
Methods: Our analysis utilized the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (SEER), and data was collected from 2000-2020.
Results: A total of 1040 cases of urinary bladder SCNEC and LCNEC were identified.
