In this study, indolyl-4H-chromene derivatives are designed and synthesised using an eco-friendly multicomponent one-pot synthesis using benzaldehydes, nitroketene N, S-acetals, and indoles combine with InCl , a Lewis acid catalyst, and ethanol, an environmentally acceptable solvent. Due to antibiotic resistance, assessed these Indolyl-4H-chromene derivatives for their in vitro antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium pyrogenes, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, using the agar well diffusion method and Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) assay. Three compounds, 4-(1H-indol-3-yl)-6-methoxy-N-methyl-3-nitro-4H-chromen-2-amine, 4-(1H-indol-3-yl)-3-nitro-N-phenyl-4H-chromen-2-amine and 4-(6-Fluoro-1H-Indol-3-yl)-N-methyl-3-nitro-4H-chromen-2-amine showed better zone of inhibition (mm) and Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) values of 10 μg/mL to 25 μg/mL against all bacterial types.

Microplastics (MPs) are a significant concern in this modern environment, and the marine environment is a sink for them now. Researchers have taken an interest in marine microplastic studies recently, which has opened the door to research in macroalgae and microalgae. Macroalgae are the primary producers in maritime ecosystems and are economically significant.

We have come across a substrate namely, 5-benzoyl-pyrrolo[2,1-]isoquinoline in which three different functionalizable C-H bonds were identified that could be judiciously transformed site selectively for the generation of complex polyring fused -heterocycles. A Pd-catalyzed cross-dehydrogenative coupling of 5-benzoyl-pyrrolo[2,1-]isoquinoline afforded 8-indeno-pyrrolo[2,1-]isoquinolinone and an oxygen induced palladium catalyzed selective C-H amination in the same substrate provided a pentacene viz., 9-indolo-pyrrolo[2,1-]isoquinoline.

Herein, we report the synthesis and self-assembly of a new class of amphiphilic azo dyes derived from a plant-based phenol, cardanol. Analysis of the self-assembly of these new azo derivatives was intriguing, and they exhibit some unique nanostructures, such as bicelles and microgel-like structures, and smectic-type thermotropic mesophases.

The use of new natural dyes derived from Leucophyllum frutescens and Ehretia microphylla as well as their combination in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) has been explored for the first time in the current work. The primary pigments that sensitize the semiconductor TiO films were found to be carotenoid, anthocyanin, and chlorophyll. Pigments from Leucophyllum frutescens and Ehretia microphylla were designated as LF and EM, and their mixture blended at volume percent of 50:50, 75:25, and 25:75 were labeled as LE1, LE2, and LE3, respectively.

Citrus plants are widely utilized for edible purposes and medicinal utility throughout the world. However, because of the higher abundance of the antimicrobial compound D-Limonene, the peel waste cannot be disposed of by biogas production. Therefore, after the extraction of D-Limonene from the peel wastes, it can be easily disposed of.

Rice blast caused by Pyricularia oryzae is one of most devastating fungal diseases in rice, reducing the annual yield of rice worldwide. As an alternative to fungicide for curbing rice blast, synthesis of nickel-chitosan nanoparticles (Ni-Ch NPs) was performed with nickel chloride and assessed its efficacy in inflating plant growth and hindrance of Pyricularia oryzae (blast pathogen). Characterization of Ni-Ch NPs from SEM, TEM, and DLS analyses showed smooth- and spherical-shaped nanoparticles in the range of 20-70 nm.

The contamination of lands and water by heavy toxic metal(loid)s is an environmental issue that needs serious attention as it poses a major threat to public health. The persistence of heavy metals/metalloids in the environment as well as their potentially dangerous effects on organisms underpins the need to restore the areas contaminated by heavy toxic metal(loid)s. Soil restoration can be achieved through a variety of different methods.

Poly- and perfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of persistent organic pollutants causing serious global concern. Plants can accumulate PFAS but their effect on plant physiology, especially at the molecular level is not very well understood. Hence, we used hydroponically-grown maize plants treated with a combination of eleven different PFAS (each at 100 μg L) to investigate their bioaccumulation and effects on the growth, physiology and their impact on the root proteome.

This paper aims to explore the relationship between big-five personality traits and investment behavior, particularly in the Indian context. Riding on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), we built a multi-layered moderated moderated-mediation model exploring the complex relationships between personality traits, investment attitude, and investment strategy. We collected data from 934 respondents from the southern part of India and analyzed using the Hayes (2018) PROCESS macros to test the hypotheses.
