Infiltrating angiolipoma in the foot.

A case of infiltrating angiolipoma of the right lower extremity is reported. Angiolipomas are benign neoplasms of adipose tissue with a rich vascular component and are classified as either infiltrating or noninfiltrating. Noninfiltrating angiolipomas are seen in young individuals, present as painful, soft, subcutaneous nodules and are treated by enucleation.

The Keller arthroplasty with use of the Dow Corning titanium hemi-implant.

Complications following the Keller arthroplasty, such as instability, shortening, and recurrence, are well known. Implants acting as a joint spacer may present some of these complications. Presently, silicone is the implant material most widely accepted and used, despite its unsuitability for long-term use and potential to produce bone and soft tissue pathology.

Most of these dissertations have dealt with the treatment of acute ruptures versus the more technically challenging, neglected, ancient rupture. This paper will focus on the neglected rupture, with specific attention directed towards a new technique of surgical repair, using Marlex mesh.
