Salivary gland secretory carcinoma (SC), previously mammary analog SC, is a low-grade malignancy characterized by well-defined morphology and an immunohistochemical and genetic profile identical to SC of the breast. Translocation t(12;15)(p13;q25) resulting in the ETV6 :: NTRK3 gene fusion is a characteristic feature of SC along with S100 protein and mammaglobin immunopositivity. The spectrum of genetic alterations for SC continues to evolve.

Hematoimmunopoiesis takes place in the adult human bone marrow (BM), which is composed of heterogeneous niches with complex architecture that enables tight regulation of homeostatic and stress responses. There is a paucity of representative culture systems that recapitulate the heterogeneous three-dimensional (3D) human BM microenvironment and that can endogenously produce soluble factors and extracellular matrix that deliver culture fidelity for the study of both normal and abnormal hematopoiesis. Native BM lymphoid populations are also poorly represented in current in vitro and in vivo models, creating challenges for the study and treatment of BM immunopathology.

Collagenoma is a rare benign skin lesion classified as a hamartomatous proliferation of normal collagen fibres and varying amounts of elastic fibres. They most frequently occur on the arms or trunk and may present as solitary or multiple lesions, as part of a syndrome (such as Cowden Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis, or MEN1) or sporadic and of varying sizes. Cerebral malaria (CM) continues to be associated with major morbidity and mortality, particularly in children aged <5 years in sub-Saharan Africa. Although the biological mechanisms underpinning severe malaria pathophysiology remain incompletely understood, studies have shown that cytoadhesion of malaria-infected erythrocytes to endothelial cells (ECs) within the cerebral microvasculature represents a key step in this process. While primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) has traditionally been regarded as a pure upper motor neuron disorder, recent clinical, neuroimaging and postmortem studies have confirmed significant extra-motor involvement. Sporadic reports have indicated that in addition to the motor cortex and corticospinal tracts, the cerebellum may also be affected in PLS. Cerebellar manifestations are difficult to ascertain in PLS as the clinical picture is dominated by widespread upper motor neuron signs.
