Background: We report the results of INICC surveillance study from 2013 to 2018, in 664 intensive care units (ICUs) in 133 cities, of 45 countries, from Latin-America, Europe, Africa, Eastern-Mediterranean, Southeast-Asia, and Western-Pacific.

Methods: Prospective data from patients hospitalized in ICUs were collected through INICC Surveillance Online System. CDC-NHSN definitions for device-associated healthcare-associated infection (DA-HAI) were applied.

Objective: Period of elderly age preordains the occurrence of many health issues. People deported during World War II to concentration camps suffered from malnutrition, lack of sleep, physical and mental exhaustion. Recently, the health condition of Holocaust survivors is often complicated as a result of physical punishments and different torture methods as well as mental hardships which they had suffered during deportation.

Combined Therapy for Patients after Ischemic Stroke as a Support of Social Adaptability.

The Objective: The main objective of the research was to find out the effectivity of the combined therapy suitable for patients after ischemic stroke (promoting social adaptability). The therapy itself is then focused on robotic, psychomotor and cognitive therapy. The research indicators were divided into three categories of psychological, social and cognitive indicators.

Attachment of family to child with disability.

The development of attachment during the perinatal and/or postnatal periods between a child their mother, father and family as whole can be observed. This attachment provides the child with the safety and security feelings and may provide satisfaction to the mother and other family members. In children with physical and mental developmental disability, attachment may be challenged immediately after birth.

Slovak and Czech OECD Data under the Magnifying Glass: Cardiovascular Pharmaceutical Consumption by Defined Daily Dose.

Objective: The aim of this study is to point out certain discrepancies and inaccuracies in reporting data concerning the consumption of cardiovascular pharmaceuticals (Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical code C, cardiovascular system) - measured in defined daily doses (DDDs) per 1,000 inhabitants per day - as reported by the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic for the year 2014. This data also appears in the online database of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Health Statistics.

Methods: First, we take the Czech wholesalers' data by DDD as reported to the OECD, and we compare this Czech data with the Slovak data.

The Health Impact of Mineral Dust Air Pollution on the Global and Local Scale (on the example from Slovakia).

Background: A significant proportion of anthropogenic dust particles are present in the atmosphere. In particular, these include industrial and municipal dust, black carbon from fossil fuels and biomass. Mineralogical research of dust particles in the air is important for knowing their impact on public health in hazardous work environments (not only in Slovakia).

Objective: Aim of our study was to identify the number of existing posture disorders in children in primary schools and to identify the most prevalent position of body segments that cause postural disorders.
