Improving peak oxygen uptake (V̇O) and maximal strength are key objectives of rehabilitation for patients with unspecific musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Although high-intensity training yield superior outcomes for these factors, patients with MSDs may not tolerate high-intensity due to pain and fear. Therefore, we examined the effect and feasibility of incorporating aerobic high-intensity intervals (HIITs) and maximal strength training (MST) in a standard clinical rehabilitation program for patients with unspecific MSDs.

Article Synopsis
  • Infections are more common in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) because their immune system is weaker and treatment can make it worse.
  • Specific proteins called Toll-like receptors (TLRs) on myeloma cells can help these cancer cells survive and grow, and different patients have different levels of TLRs.
  • Activating TLRs can make treatment with certain drugs less effective, and it can also change the way some important genes are expressed in the cancer cells.

Introduction: Although psychoeducational group interventions are increasingly used for adults diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a comprehensive review focused on the feasibility and acceptability indicators of these interventions remains lacking. Furthermore, although previous research has explored various aspects of psychoeducation for ADHD, such as its definition and approaches, limited research has focused on the synthesis for outcome measures and patients' experiences related to these interventions. Therefore, this scoping review aims to map the existing evidence reported on psychoeducational group interventions for adults diagnosed with ADHD.

May 2024

Institute of Biomedicine, University of Turku and Department of Clinical Virology, Turku University Hospital, Kiinamyllynkatu 10, 20520, Turku, Finland.

Air travel has an important role in the spread of viral acute respiratory infections (ARIs). Aircraft offer an ideal setting for the transmission of ARI because of a closed environment, crowded conditions, and close-contact setting. Numerous studies have shown that influenza and COVID-19 spread readily in an aircraft with one virus-positive symptomatic or asymptomatic index case.
