The rates of anxiety and depression increase across adolescence, many experience recurrence after treatment, yet longitudinal studies examining promotive factors are scarce. We prospectively examined the role of the promotive factors structured style, personal and social competencies, family functioning, and social resources in homotypic and heterotypic continuity and discontinuity of anxiety and depression across three years in a clinical sample. Participants were adolescents with anxiety or depressive disorders aged 13-18 years at T1 ( = 717, 44% initial participation rate) and aged 16-21 years at T2 ( = 549, 80% follow-up participation rate).

Objective: This paper describes the relationship between elastic tissue properties and strain and presents an initial investigation of pulse-echo ultrasound to measure two uncorrelated elastic parameters in tissue-mimicking phantoms. The two elastic parameters are the shear modulus, related to deformation of shape, and what we in the paper define as the nonlinear compressibility, related to deformation of volume.
Methods: We prepared tissue-mimicking phantoms containing lesions of variable shear modulus and variable nonlinear compressibility.

Background: Patients with migraine are vulnerable to insufficient sleep, but the impact of sleep restriction is largely unknown. In addition, the importance of sleep may be different in patients with migraine who mostly have attack onsets during sleep, so called sleep-related migraine, compared to patients with non-sleep-related migraine. In this study we investigate the effect of sleep restriction on endogenous pain modulation in patients with migraine and healthy controls.

Objective: To investigate the gender differences and the disparities between infected and noninfected patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) regarding patient-reported experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway.
Method: Register study using questionnaires sent electronically to patients with T2D, June 2022. The questionnaire included 82 questions covering COVID-19 disease, symptoms, medications, comorbidities, hospital care, possibility of working from home and information received from health authorities.

Background And Purpose: We aimed to evaluate polyethylene (PE) wear, cup migration, and clinical outcome over 10 years in total hip arthroplasties (THA) using different articulations.
Methods: This is a secondary analysis of 150 patients randomized into 5 groups, using different articulations: Charnley/Charnley Ogee for steel and conventional polyethylene (CPE), or Spectron EF/Reflection with either CPE or highly cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) cups, paired with heads made of either cobalt-chromium (CoCr) or oxidized zirconium (OxZr). All cups were cemented.

Background: Family factors, sleep, and physical activity have previously been associated with risk of sick leave and disability benefits due to musculoskeletal disorders. However, how these factors act during adolescence and young adulthood is unclear. The aim of this study was to (i) examine if chronic pain, disability benefits and education in parents influence the risk of long-term sick leave due to musculoskeletal disorders in young adulthood, and (ii) to explore if offspring sleep problems and physical activity modify these effects.

Background: Numerous studies have examined associations between overweight and obesity and risk of low back pain (LBP), but the exact magnitude of these associations is not yet clear. The purpose of this work was to assess such sex-specific associations in a community-based setting in Norway, taking into account potential relationships with other risk factors.
Methods: A cohort study was conducted combining data from two waves of the Trøndelag Health Study, HUNT3 (2006-2008) and HUNT4 (2017-2019).

Background And Aims: Children born after assisted reproductive technology (ART) have worse perinatal outcomes compared with spontaneously conceived children. This study investigates whether children conceived after ART have a higher risk of congenital heart defects (CHDs) compared with children born after spontaneous conception (SC).
Methods: All 7 747 637 liveborn children in Denmark (1994-2014), Finland (1990-2014), Norway (1984-2015), and Sweden (1987-2015), where 171 735 children were conceived after ART, were included.

Objective: Despite the increasing number of fenestrated and branched endovascular aortic repair (F/B-EVAR) procedures, evidence on post-operative antiplatelet therapy is very limited. This study aimed to investigate the role of single antiplatelet therapy (SAPT) vs. double antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after F/B-EVAR in 30 day and follow up outcomes.

Objective: The most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is the expansion. A high incidence of this expansion has been detected in Sweden and Finland. This Norwegian population-based study aimed to identify the prevalence, geographic distribution, ancestry, and relatedness of ALS patients with a expansion (C9).

Human Activity Recognition models have potential to contribute to valuable and detailed knowledge of habitual physical activity for typically developing children and children with Cerebral Palsy. The main objective of the present study was to develop and validate two Human Activity Recognition models. One trained on data from typically developing children (n = 63), the second also including data from children with Cerebral Palsy (n = 16), engaging in standardised activities and free play.

Background: Exposure to alcohol and/or other addictive drugs in pregnancy is a documented risk factor for neurological impairment. We aimed to assess neurodevelopmental outcome at two years of age in infants exposed to prenatal alcohol and/or other addictive drugs and to examine the predictive value of early motor assessment.
Methods: This was a follow-up at two years of age in the prospective cohort study Children Exposed to Alcohol and/or Drugs in Intrauterine Life (CEADIL).

Research suggests that metacognitions could be important in explaining symptoms of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), but the effect of metacognitive therapy (MCT) on BDD is unknown. The aim of this consecutive case series was to explore MCT for BDD, delivered individually within a public mental health setting. Treatment was based on MCT manuals for obsessive-compulsive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.

Background: The essential hypertension phenotype results from an interplay between genetic and environmental factors. The influence of lifestyle exposures such as excess adiposity, alcohol consumption, tobacco use, diet, and activity patterns on blood pressure (BP) is well established. Additionally, polygenic risk scores for BP traits are associated with clinically significant phenotypic variation.

Introduction: F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) is recommended for staging and defining target volume in limited-stage SCLC, though the impact on outcomes compared with CT staging and elective nodal irradiation (ENI) is not well documented. We analyzed patients receiving 45 Gy/30 fractions in two randomized trials of thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) in limited-stage SCLC (HAST and THORA trials) to evaluate whether PET-CT for staging and radiotherapy planning reduces radiotoxicity and improves survival.
Methods: Patients in HAST were staged with CT of the thorax and upper abdomen and brain magnetic resonance imaging of the brain.

Background: Mental health settings are increasingly using co-facilitation of educational group interventions in collaboration with patient partners and service users. However, despite promising results, limited information is available regarding the feasibility and satisfaction levels of these programmes among adults newly diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity/impulsivity disorder (ADHD). Hence, this study aimed to determine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effects of a user co-facilitated psychoeducational group programme for adults diagnosed with ADHD.
