This CIRSE Standards of Practice document is aimed at interventional radiologists and provides best practices for performing liver regeneration therapies prior to major hepatectomies, including portal vein embolization, double vein embolization and liver venous deprivation. It has been developed by an expert writing group under the guidance of the CIRSE Standards of Practice Committee. It encompasses all clinical and technical details required to perform liver regeneration therapies, revising the indications, contra-indications, outcome measures assessed, technique and expected outcomes.

Background & Aims: To maximize utility and prevent premature liver transplantation (LT), a delayed LT strategy (DS) was adopted in France in 2015 in patients listed for any single HCC treated with resection or thermal ablation during the waiting phase. The DS involves postponing LT until recurrence. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the DS to make sure that it did not hamper pre- and post-LT outcomes.

Introduction: Early home visit programmes have been developed to help parents build an adequate relationship with their baby and to prevent child developmental delays and affective disorders. The "Appui Parental" programme is an intervention carried out by nursery nurses to provide intensive parental support to vulnerable families. Before extending this programme, it seemed necessary to evaluate its impact objectively.

Introduction: This systematic review aimed to compare liver venous deprivation (LVD) with portal vein embolization (PVE) in terms of future liver volume, postoperative outcomes, and oncological safety before major hepatectomy.
Methods: We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis following the PRISMA guidelines 2020 and AMSTAR 2 guidelines. Comparative articles published before November 2022 were retained.

Background: Transarterial radioembolization (TARE) has recently been recognized as a bridging/downstaging therapy to surgery for early hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) with high rates of complete pathological necrosis (CPN) on liver explants. In patients with portal vein tumoral thrombus (PVTT), multifocal or large tumors, TARE has mainly a palliative role and surgery remains controversial in this poor-prognosis population. Personalized dosimetry recently proved to outperform standard dosimetry used in prior negative Y90 randomized-controlled trials.

Background And Aims: Data on the effectiveness of atezolizumab plus bevacizumab (atezo-bev) after failure of multikinase inhibitor (MKI) therapy in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma are scarce.
Methods: This retrospective multicentre study included all consecutive patients treated with atezo-bev after failing one or more MKI treatments in the setting of an early access program. The primary endpoint was the objective response rate (ORR) by investigator assessment (using Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors v1.

Background: Liver failure is the most threatening complication after hepatectomy for colorectal liver metastases. Recent studies indicate that liver functional evaluation by hepatobiliary scintigraphy (HBS) could be more sensitive than volumetry to predict the risk of post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF). The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of Tc-mebrofenin HBS, when used as the main preoperative assessment before major hepatectomy in patients with liver metastases from colorectal cancer.

Portal vein embolization (PVE) is currently considered the standard of care to improve the volume of an inadequate future remnant liver (FRL) and decrease the risk of post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF). PHLF remains a significant limitation in performing major liver surgery and is the main cause of mortality after resection. The degree of hypertrophy obtained after PVE is variable and depends on multiple factors.

Objectives: The therapeutic alliance, an essential component of the therapeutic process, has been investigated in adult and child therapy, but studies in the context of parent-infant or parent-toddler therapeutic interventions are scarce. This monocentric study aims to produce a French cross-cultural adaptation of a therapeutic alliance scale for the context of early consultations in a child and psychiatry department.
Method: Fifty-five young children aged 3 to 30 months consulting for regulation or behavioral disorders and their mothers were included in the study.

Purpose: To assess the feasibility and safety of a robotic system for percutaneous needle insertion during thermal ablation of liver tumors.
Materials And Methods: This study analyzed the CT-guided percutaneous needle insertion using the EPIONE robotic device (Quantum Surgical, Montpellier, France) for radiofrequency or microwave liver ablation. The main criteria of the study were feasibility (possibility to perform the thermal ablation after needle insertion), the number of needle adjustments (reiteration of robotically assisted needle insertion when initial needle positioning is considered insufficient to perform ablation), and robotic-guided procedure safety (complications related to the needle insertion).

Trans-arterial radioembolization is currently performed using Y-loaded glass or resin microspheres and also using Ho-loaded microspheres. The goal of this review is to present dosimetry and radiobiology concepts, the different dosimetry approaches available (simulation-based dosimetry and post-treatment dosimetry), main confounding factors as main clinical dosimetry results provided during the last decade for both hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and metastases of colorectal carcinoma (mCRC). Based on the different number of microspheres or different isotope used, radiobiology of the three devices is different, meaning that tumouricidal doses and maximal tolerated doses are different.

The Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) system is the most commonly used staging system for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in Western countries. BCLC aims to categorize patients into five stages with different prognoses and to allocate treatment according to these stages based on the best possible contemporary evidence. Transarterial radioembolization (TARE) has recently entered at the left of the BCLC algorithm (i.

Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is the most widely used biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) prognosis. However, AFP is not useful in establishing a prognosis for patients with a tumor in the early stages. hPG (circulating progastrin) is a tumor promoting peptide present in the blood of patients with various cancers, including HCC.
