Background: Voluntary shoulder instability is characterized by a patient's ability to sublux their shoulder using selective muscle contraction and relaxation. High failure rates exist with open shoulder stabilization in this group of patients. The purpose of this study was to report the outcomes for patients with voluntary instability treated arthroscopically.

Background: The laser assisted ratio analyser (LARA) was developed as a novel device to measure 13CO2 in the urea breath test for the detection of H. pylori infection. The analyser was tested in a prospective multicentre study in 444 patients in North America (Phase 1) followed by second study involving 160 patients (Phase 2).

The relationship between religiosity and health-risk factors in geriatrics.

This study investigates the relationship between religion and alcohol use, sedentary life style, and tobacco use. A survey of 990 noninstitutionalized persons 62 years of age and older was completed. Five life-style questions, three religious questions, and patient demographic information were studied.

The detection of occult renal tumors in children by elevated hematocrit on routine complete blood count: a report of two cases.

Wilms' tumor is a renal neoplasm usually found in young children and is rarely seen in teenagers. The production of erythropoietin by these tumors may result in secondary erythrocytosis, which should be reflected in complete blood counts (CBC). A search of the literature for reports of occult Wilms' tumors initially suspected on the basis of erythrocytosis was unrewarding.
