Aims: To evaluate survival outcomes and toxicology profiles in oligometastatic/oligoprogressive patients treated with SBRT for adrenal metastases.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 25 metastatic adrenal lesions in 24 oligometastatic/oligoprogressive patients undergoing ablative Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) between February 2010 and November 2019 in our department. The primary endpoint was overall survival (OS).

Purpose: Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) was a common procedure worldwide but associated with a high rate of long-term failure. This study aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of conversion to one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) after failed LAGB.
Materials And Methods: We undertook a retrospective analysis of a prospectively maintained database in a tertiary referral center for bariatric surgery.

Cuticular drusen are part of the spectrum of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with particular clinical and multimodal imaging characteristics. This drusen subpopulation shares several high-risk single nucleotide polymorphisms with AMD. Despite this feature, they can manifest at a relatively young age, presenting with a female preponderance.

Purpose: The present study aims to determine the impact of previous bariatric surgery (BS) on the length of hospital stay; the incidence of mortality, re-transplantation, and re-hospitalization after LT; and the related economic costs, through the analysis of the French National Health Insurance Information System.
Materials And Methods: All patients aged > 18 years who underwent LT in France in the period from 2010 to 2019 were included. Thirty-nine patients with a history of BS (study group) were compared with 1798 obese patients without previous BS (control group).

Background: The prognostic relevance of early immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in patients affected by non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) upon immunotherapy is not fully understood.
Methods: The Leading to Treatment Discontinuation cohort included 24 patients experiencing severe irAEs after one of two administrations of single anti-PD-1/PD-L1 in any line setting for metastatic NSCLC between November 2015 and June 2019. The control cohort was composed of 526 patients treated with single anti-PD-1/PD-L1 in any line setting with no severe irAE reported.

Near-infrared reflectance (NIR) is a noninvasive, contactless, and rapid in vivo imaging technique for visualizing subretinal alterations in the photoreceptor layer, retinal pigment epithelium, and choroid. The present report describes the application of this imaging method in retinal and choroidal pathologies affecting young patients where scarce cooperation, poor fixation, and intense glare sensation can result in a challenging clinical examination. A literature search of the MEDLINE database was performed using the terms "near-infrared reflectance" and "spectral-domain optical coherence tomography.

Background: In the last decade, analysis of malignant cells and flora in gastric lavage (GL) has provided interesting data on pathogenesis of gastric cancer (GC). For this study, combining such two aspects into one cyto-microbiologic category, we tested the prognostic role of the presence/absence of cancer cells (GL1/GL0) and bacterial microbiota (MB1/MB0) in our GC population.
Material And Methods: Between April 2012 and August 2019, 79 surgical patients with GC were prospectively investigated with the determination of GL MB.

Purpose: The treatment of people with severe obesity and BMI > 50 kg/m is challenging. The present study aims to evaluate the short and mid-term outcomes of one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) with a biliopancreatic limb of 150 cm as a primary bariatric procedure to treat those people in a referral center for bariatric surgery.
Material And Methods: Data of patients who underwent OAGB for severe obesity with BMI > 50 kg/m between 2010 and 2017 were collected prospectively and analyzed retrospectively.

Ethical concerns about stem cell-based research have delayed important advances in many areas of medicine, including cardiology. The introduction of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) has supplanted the need to use human stem cells for most purposes, thus eliminating all ethical controversies. Since then, many new avenues have been opened in cardiology research, not only in approaches to tissue replacement but also in the design and testing of antiarrhythmic drugs.

Background: The traditional technique for subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (S-ICD) implantation involves three incisions and a subcutaneous (SC) pocket. An intermuscular (IM) 2-incision technique has been recently adopted.
Aims: We assessed acute defibrillation efficacy (DE) of S-ICD (DE ≤65 J) according to the implantation technique.

Branchiogenic carcinoma (BC) is an extremely rare and still controversial clinic entity with few cases reported in literature. This malignant squamous epithelial wall degeneration of a pre-existing second branchial cleft cyst (SBCC) was first described by Von Volk-mann in 1882. Here we present a case of cervical cystic mass that was histologically diagnosed as a primary branchial cleft cyst carcinoma.

Background: We previously demonstrated the cumulative poor prognostic role of concomitant medications on the clinical outcome of patients with advanced cancer treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors, creating and validating a drug-based prognostic score to be calculated before immunotherapy initiation in patients with advanced solid tumours. This 'drug score' was calculated assigning score 1 for each between proton-pump inhibitor and antibiotic administration until a month before cancer therapy initiation and score 2 in case of corticosteroid intake. The good risk group included patients with score 0, intermediate risk with score 1-2 and poor risk with score 3-4.

Precis: Visual field (VF) endpoints based on average deviation of specific subsets of points rather than all points may offer a more homogeneous data set without necessarily worsening test-retest variability and so may be useful in clinical trials.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to characterize the outcome measures encompassing particular subsets of VF points and compare them as obtained with Humphrey [Humphrey visual field analyser (HVF)] and Compass perimeters.
Methods: Thirty patients with imaging-based glaucomatous neuropathy performed a pair of 24-2 tests with each of 2 perimeters.

: Diffuse choroidal hemangioma (DCH) is a benign vascular tumor that is characteristically found in the Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS). Recent genetic discoveries demonstrate that DCH occurs sporadically from an activating mutation in at codon . Mutations in or result in dysregulation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase, which influences gene transcription and results in cellular proliferation.

Background: The need for revisional procedures after sleeve gastrectomy (SG) for insufficient weight loss or weight regain, gastroesophageal reflux, or other complications is reported to be 18-36% in studies with 10-year follow-up. Single-anastomosis duodeno-ileal bypass (SADI) may be performed as a revisional procedure after SG. This study aims to evaluate the short- and mid-term outcomes of SADI after SG in a referral center for bariatric surgery.

Background: Internal hernia (IH) represents a relatively common and well-known complication after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. IH after one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is less frequent and rarely reported in the literature. This study presents a series of IH after OAGB observed in a high-volume bariatric center.
