Background: Human milk, especially the mother's own milk (MOM), is highly recommended for preterm babies considering its numerous benefits. Prioritising the use of exclusive MOM in enteral feeding plans is essential for maximising the health and development of preterm babies. This study evaluated the effect of early establishment of full enteral feed (FEF) with exclusive MOM on feeding rate and neonatal nutritional outcomes at discharge among preterm babies.

Cleft lip and palate (CLP) significantly impact speech and language development in children. In remote areas, access to specialised services is often limited, necessitating innovative approaches for effective service delivery. This case report explores the potential of tele-supervised intervention provided by community-based rehabilitation workers (CBRWs) to enhance communication outcomes for children with CLP.

Background: Chronic pain poses a multifaceted and prevalent challenge that significantly affects an individual's quality of life. Sensory mechanisms, behavioural components (kinesiophobia and catastrophising), and social factors can influence pain perception in both younger and older populations. Moreover, the mechanisms underlying these altered pain phenotypes require further investigation in order to plan appropriate treatment.

3-Dimensional (3D) cultures of cancer cell lines exhibit unique morphologies, a feature that can be utilized for understanding several aspects of solid tumors. This study aims to investigate the morphology and morphometrics of agarose hydrogel-induced 3D aggregates of SiHa cell line. Floating 3D aggregates of SiHa cells were obtained using liquid overlay technique on 1 % agarose hydrogel.

Retinal pericytes (PCs) are contractile microvascular smooth muscle cells that wrap around the endothelial cells (ECs) maintaining intact retinal vasculature (RV) with a 1:1 ratio. Microvascular complications like diabetic retinopathy (DR) due to chronic diabetes causes apoptotic loss of PCs followed by diminished vessel stability, EC apoptosis, and ischemia, leading to retinal angiogenesis, and eventually severe vision loss. This study aimed to analyze the proteins in PCs isolated from the RV of diabetic human donor eyes and compare them with remaining mixed population (MP) of retinal vascular cells.

Prostate Cancer Biomarker Laboratory, Faculty of Clinical Research, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research, Chennai, India.
Biomarkers are molecules such as proteins, genes, or other substances that may be tested to determine the stage of the tumor in a patient. The role of prostate cancer biomarkers is pivotal and the combination of prostate cancer immunotherapy with efficient biomarkers has emerged as a beneficial treatment strategy and its use has increased rapidly. The two primary objectives of this current prostate cancer early detection programs were recognizing non-symptomatic individuals with prostate cancer requiring prostatic core biopsy and identifying men with prostate cancer who might benefit from definitive medical treatment.

A core component of every blood program is the supply of safe blood and blood products. The elevated risk of transmission through these products is due to parvovirus B19 (B19V) resistance to the virus inactivation procedures. Our study aimed to screen asymptomatic blood donors for B19V at a tertiary care hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, between September 2020 and June 2021.

Obesity is a widespread prevailing health concern with multifactorial causes. Among the various defined molecular targets associated with obesity, peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma, leptin, ghrelin, and adiponectin play crucial roles in fundamental processes including energy balance, adipose tissue biology, and metabolic health, making them particularly significant in the study of obesity.Capsaicin and orange peel exhibit promising anti-obesity properties through their thermogenic, metabolic, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Background: Nephrotic syndrome (NS) is a common kidney disease in children. While Steroid-Sensitive Nephrotic Syndrome (SSNS) is frequently observed, Steroid-Resistant Nephrotic Syndrome (SRNS) has a poor prognosis and often leads to chronic kidney disease. The pathogenesis of SRNS is complex, with immunological modulation of T helper subtypes 1 and 2 cytokines increasing susceptibility to the disease.

Cancers have complex etiology and pose a significant impact from the health care perspective apart from the socio-economic implications. The enormity of challenge posed by cancers can be understood from the fact that clinical trials for cancer therapy has yielded minimum potential promises compared to those obtained for other diseases. Surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy continue to be the mainstay therapeutic options for cancers.
