Periodontitis is complex microbial plaque induced condition. In this study, HiOra herbal mouthwash widely marketed in India, achieved a 5-log reduction in standard fungi and bacterial strains within 60 min. Thereby demonstrating antibacterial and antifungal activity similar to chlorhexidine and accordance with the PN EN 1040 and EN 1650 standards.

Effect of early establishment of full enteral feeding with exclusive mother's own milk in preterm babies: a retrospective cohort study.

Background: Human milk, especially the mother's own milk (MOM), is highly recommended for preterm babies considering its numerous benefits. Prioritising the use of exclusive MOM in enteral feeding plans is essential for maximising the health and development of preterm babies. 3-Dimensional multicellular aggregates of human cervical cancer cell line SiHa - getting to the core of their morphologies.

3-Dimensional (3D) cultures of cancer cell lines exhibit unique morphologies, a feature that can be utilized for understanding several aspects of solid tumors. This study aims to investigate the morphology and morphometrics of agarose hydrogel-induced 3D aggregates of SiHa cell line. Floating 3D aggregates of SiHa cells were obtained using liquid overlay technique on 1 % agarose hydrogel.

Proteome of pericytes from retinal vasculature of diabetic donor eyes.

Retinal pericytes (PCs) are contractile microvascular smooth muscle cells that wrap around the endothelial cells (ECs) maintaining intact retinal vasculature (RV) with a 1:1 ratio. Microvascular complications like diabetic retinopathy (DR) due to chronic diabetes causes apoptotic loss of PCs followed by diminished vessel stability, EC apoptosis, and ischemia, leading to retinal angiogenesis, and eventually severe vision loss. This study aimed to analyze the proteins in PCs isolated from the RV of diabetic human donor eyes and compare them with remaining mixed population (MP) of retinal vascular cells.

Aim: The study aimed to understand awareness, perceptions, and barriers to voice therapy among beginners, performers, and teachers of Carnatic music.

Method: Barriers from the literature were obtained, and the guide for the semistructured interview was developed. Twelve Carnatic singers (four each identified as beginners, performers, and teachers) were contacted and interviewed on an online platform.

Prostate cancer theragnostics biomarkers: An update.

Biomarkers are molecules such as proteins, genes, or other substances that may be tested to determine the stage of the tumor in a patient. The role of prostate cancer biomarkers is pivotal and the combination of prostate cancer immunotherapy with efficient biomarkers has emerged as a beneficial treatment strategy and its use has increased rapidly. Antimicrobial resistance profiling of bacteria isolated from wastewater and samples of pharmaceutical industries in South India.

The study was aimed to determine the phenotypic and genotypic antimicrobial resistance in the isolated bacteria from the influent (25), effluent (15), surface and ground water samples (15) surrounding the pharmaceutical industries located in south India. Aim: The study aimed to identify the item hierarchy of the Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI) in school teachers using Mokken Scaling Analysis (MSA).

Method: A total of 362 school teachers from five zones in Chennai city, southern part of India, participated in the study. All subjects completed a subject-information form that had details such as age, sex, duration of vocal demand per day, number of classes taken, grades taught, and years of experience and VFI.

Increased parvovirus B19 seropositivity in healthy blood donors in India.

A core component of every blood program is the supply of safe blood and blood products. The elevated risk of transmission through these products is due to parvovirus B19 (B19V) resistance to the virus inactivation procedures. Our study aimed to screen asymptomatic blood donors for B19V at a tertiary care hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, between September 2020 and June 2021.

Background: Nephrotic syndrome (NS) is a common kidney disease in children. While Steroid-Sensitive Nephrotic Syndrome (SSNS) is frequently observed, Steroid-Resistant Nephrotic Syndrome (SRNS) has a poor prognosis and often leads to chronic kidney disease. The pathogenesis of SRNS is complex, with immunological modulation of T helper subtypes 1 and 2 cytokines increasing susceptibility to the disease.
