Nitrogen-containing heterocyclic scaffolds have become a prospective pharmacophore with therapeutic importance due to their biological similarities with natural and synthetic drugs. Among all nitrogen heterocyclic compounds, benzimidazoles and their derivatives are privileged molecules structurally akin to naturally available nucleotides, enabling them to intercommunicate with numerous biopolymers in biological systems. This reason enlightens modern researchers worldwide to assess their potential significance in the context of synthetic and biological chemistry.

Article Synopsis
  • - Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) causes pain around the knee due to changes in the patellofemoral joint, primarily from excessive loading and muscle tightness.
  • - A study examined 50 individuals with unilateral PFPS to investigate the correlation between tightness in specific muscles (rectus femoris, gastrocnemius, ITB, hamstring, and QL) on both affected and unaffected sides.
  • - Results showed significant associations between PFPS and tightness in rectus femoris, gastrocnemius, and ITB, while no significant links were found for hamstring and QL tightness.

Introduction: There is no standard methodology for outlining the intricacies of allied healthcare education (AHE) or its quality. The profound misconception is that quality assurance (QA) in AHE is used on a "voluntary" basis. Given the absence of statutory regulatory mechanisms such as accreditation, validation, and audit by the peripheral agencies concerning QA, adoption of QA measures in AHE is not consistent, and it results in producing a subpar allied health workforce.

Treatment of industrial wastewater is one of the biggest challenges that mankind is facing today to prevent environmental pollution and its associated adverse effects on human health. Environmentalists across the world have given a clarion call for dye degradation, wastewater treatment and their effective management in our surrounding habitats. Despite significant progress in the development of new water treatment technologies, new materials haven't matured enough for large scale industrial applications.

Background: Frozen shoulder (FS) is one of the most common shoulder conditions characterized by pain, restricted range of motion and high morbidity. Though FS is known as adhesive capsulitis, presence of capsular adhesions has been rebutted and the nomenclature adhesive capsulitis is debated. It has been proposed that FS is a condition of cytokine driven capsular, ligamentous fibrosis and contracture.

Background: Patients admitted to intensive care units (ICU) are at an increased risk of developing immobility related complications. Physiotherapists are challenged to employ preventive and rehabilitative strategies to combat these effects. Passive limb range of motion (PROM) exercises- a part of early mobilization-aid in maintaining joint range of motion and functional muscle strength and forms a part of treatment for patients in ICU.

The word "quality" refers to the features of a product or service to which a certain value is ascribed. When it comes to hospital-based practices, quality has often been considered to be specific to the care provided. However, this specific perspective is transitioning toward a broader concept after the evolution of quality-improvement projects and quality frameworks at the organizational level.

CaTiO has attracted enormous interest in the fields of photocatalytic dye degradation and water splitting owing to its low cost, excellent physicochemical stability and structural tunability. Herein, we have developed a simple one pot solvothermal approach which directs V into the Ti sites in the isovalent state during the synthesis of V doped CaTiO cuboids. The prediction of reduction in the band gap due to the formation of additional levels just beneath the conduction band edge by the first principles density functional electronic structure study is confirmed by the experimental results.

The main focus of current research is on the synthesis and anticorrosive activity of novel heterocyclic compounds tert-butyl 4-[(4-methyl phenyl) carbonyl] piperazine-1-carboxylate [TBMPCPC]. Electrochemical, quantum chemical, and surface characterization studies at elevated temperatures (303-333 K) for carbon steel in 1M HCl solution studied this molecule's corrosion inhibition property. It is observed from the results of electrochemical studies that the TBMPCPC may be able to effectively protect the steel plate surface with an inhibition efficiency of 91.

Backround: Plantar Fasciopathy (PF) is soreness or irritability experienced underneath infero-medial aspect of the heel. It is a multifactorial disorder where myofascial involvement also seems to be associated with it, in which, muscles of posterior thigh, leg and foot muscles are affected. Trigger points in these muscles may interfere with biomechanics and normal functioning of the lower limb.

Environmentally friendly BaTiO is emerging as a potential photocatalyst due to its tunable electronic structure. Although originally believed to be a poor photocatalyst due to its wide band gap, several strategies have been implemented to reduce its band gap. One such approach is doping, but this often leads to the formation of mid gap recombination centers and diminishes the efficiency of the material.

Does Kinesio taping correct exaggerated dynamic knee valgus? A randomized double blinded sham-controlled trial.

J Bodyw Mov Ther

July 2018

Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Physiotherapy, Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana 133207, Haryana, India. Electronic address:

Background: Deficiency in hip girdle neuromuscular control can cause exaggerated Dynamic Knee Valgus (DKV) which afflicts the knee joint and lead to knee injuries especially ACL injury in sports. Though Kinesio taping (KT) is known to improve function, stability and proprioception, the evidence is inconclusive on its effectiveness in athletes. We hypothesized that kinesio taping could enhance neuromuscular control of the hip girdle there by causing a reduction in DKV.

Bioresorbable Scaffolds: Current Evidences in the Treatment of Coronary Artery Disease.

J Clin Diagn Res

October 2016

Clinical Research Analyst and Professor, Srinivas University, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India .

Percutaneous coronary revascularization strategies have gradually progressed over a period of last few decades. The advent of newer generation drug-eluting stents has significantly improved the outcomes of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) by substantially reducing in-stent restenosis and stent thrombosis. However, vascular inflammation, restenosis, thrombosis, and neoatherosclerosis due to the permanent presence of a metallic foreign body within the artery limit their usage in complex Coronary Artery Disease (CAD).
