Smart polymer hydrogels with superior dye adsorption (brilliant green) characteristics were synthesized via free-radical polymerization by grafting acrylic acid segments onto allylated chitosan and inducing crosslinking with a trimethylolpropane triacrylate crosslinker. The synthesized adsorbents were characterized for their chemical structure (FT-IR and H NMR), thermal stability (TG/DTG), and morphological features (SEM). The adsorption capacity for brilliant green (934 mg/g) and water uptake (712 g/g) were determined using spectrophotometric and gravimetric methods, respectively.

In this paper, we analyze the role of fear in a three-species non-delayed ecological model that examines the interactions among susceptible prey, infectious (diseased) prey, and predators within a food web. The prey population grows in a logistic manner until it achieves a carrying capacity, reflecting common population dynamics in the absence of predators. Diseased prey is assumed to transmit infection to healthful prey by the use of a Holling type II reaction.

Sesbania grandiflora also known as Agasthya has potent antibiofilm activity and its bioactive compounds obtained from the leaves are medicarpin, isoniazid and 4-methyl oxazole. Extra cellular polymeric substances (EPS) created by the bacterium involve the formation of biofilm and this causes the infections such as nosocomial infections, and urinary tract infections. Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been linked with high levels of intracellular Cyclic-di-Guanosine Monophosphate (c-di-GMP; PA4781) in biofilm formation.

Storage of meat has always been challenging due to its deterioration caused by oxidative rancidity and microbial activity, especially in trading. The melanin-coated film acts as a potent antioxidant, prevents the oxidation of fatty acids, and neutralizes the reactive oxygen species (ROS) helping to withstand or perpetuate the oxidative stress of meat. This study emphasizes the production of fungal melanin extracted from Curvularia lunata and the preparation of two different melanin film combinations of gelatin/melanin and agar/melanin at 0.

Extensive utilization of pesticides and herbicides to boost agricultural production increased the environmental health risks, which can be mitigate with the aid of highly sensitive detection systems. In this study, an electrochemical sensor for monitoring the carcinogenic pesticides in the environmental samples has been developed based on sulfur-doped graphitic-carbon nitride-gold nanoparticles (SCN-AuNPs) nanohybrid. Thermal polycondensation of melamine with thiourea followed by solvent exfoliation via ultrasonication leads to SCN formation and electroless deposition of AuNPs on SCN leads to SCN-AuNPs nanohybrid synthesis.

Sustainable Energy and Environmental Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur 603203, Tamil Nadu, India.

In this study, a solution-based synthesis technique was utilized to produce CuO nanoparticles (NPs) on TiO nanofibers (TNF), which were then subsequently coated with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanosheets. In the absence of any cocatalyst, CTNF@rGO-3% composite displayed an ideal photocatalytic H evolution rate of 96 μmol g h under visible light irradiation, this was 10 times higher than that of pure TNF. At 420 nm, the apparent quantum efficiency of this composite reached a maximum of 7.

Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biotechnology, Molecular and Cellular Reprogramming Center and Institute of Advanced Regenerative Science, Konkuk University, Seoul, 05029, Republic of Korea.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a complex condition that is significantly influenced by oxidative stress and inflammation. It is also suggested that telomere shortening (TS) is regulated by oxidative stress which leads to various diseases including age-related neurodegenerative diseases like PD. Thus, it is anticipated that PD would result in TS of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
