"Myiasis" is considered in Hindu mythology as "God's punishment for sinners." It is known to infest live human or animal tissue. Literature abounds with reports of myiasis affecting the nasal cavity, ear, nonhealing ulcers, exophytic malignant growth, and cutaneous tissue.
