Ovarian cancers are tumors that originate from the different cells of the ovary and account for almost 4% of all the cancers in women globally. More than 30 types of tumors have been identified based on the cellular origins. Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most common and lethal type of ovarian cancer which can be further divided into high-grade serous, low-grade serous, endometrioid, clear cell, and mucinous carcinoma.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how different concentrations of sodium chloride affect the antibacterial effectiveness of common intracanal irrigants by altering their osmotic values.
  • Biofilms were treated with various sodium chloride solutions combined with three types of irrigants (sodium hypochlorite, chlorhexidine, and povidone iodine) to evaluate their impact on bacterial biomass.
  • Results showed that certain combinations significantly reduced bacterial levels, suggesting that osmolarity plays a crucial role in enhancing the antibacterial properties of these irrigants.*

Background And Aims: Diabetes mellitus and its complications are associated with high mortality and morbidity. Early detection is mandatory to improve quality of life years in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Hyperglycaemia disrupts podocytes, both structurally and functionally, leading to excretion of nephrin which is present in the glomerular filtration barrier.

P21 Activated Kinase 1 (PAK1) is an oncogenic serine/threonine kinase known to play a significant role in the regulation of cytoskeleton and cell morphology. Runt-related transcription factor 3 (RUNX3) was initially known for its tumor suppressor function, but recent studies have reported the oncogenic role of RUNX3 in various cancers. Previous findings from our laboratory provided evidence that Threonine 209 phosphorylation of RUNX3 acts as a molecular switch in dictating the tissue-specific dualistic functions of RUNX3 for the first time.

Background: Frequency range measures in singers reflect their physiological capacity, vocal flexibility, training effects, strengths, and limitations in singing. Since this information is vital for pedagogic and clinical purposes, this study aimed to measure the frequency range in Carnatic singers while singing different aspects of the vocal music.

Method: Practice task (gliding from lowest to highest note) and performance task (singing a song with vocal ornaments) were recorded from 55 trained Carnatic singers (40 females and 15 males).

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women worldwide. Identifying reliable biomarkers and druggable molecular targets pose to be a significant quest in breast cancer research. p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that direct cell motility, cytoskeletal remodelling, and has been shown to function as a downstream regulator for various cancer signalling cascades that promote cell proliferation, apoptosis deregulation and hasten mitotic abnormalities, resulting in tumor formation and progression.

Fragmented sleep is a daunting experience and a common health problem with high prevalence among patients 3 months after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). However, the potential predictors on poor seep quality remains unexplored. The main purpose of this study was to determine the predictors of poor sleep quality among patients 3 months after CABG.

Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers are known to have a high incidence worldwide and require an early diagnosis to successfully treat them, providing higher survival rates and better quality of life for the patients. MicroRNA-27a is a well-known oncogene that plays a significant role in various GI cancers. It is known to upregulate the expression of numerous oncogenes leading to cancer progression.
