Snake bite is an environmental and occupational hazard in many tropical and subtropical countries. It demands a high level of knowledge and skill in managing the envenomation syndrome. Herein, we describe a rare case of acute acalculous cholecystitis (AAC) that developed in a 36-year-old man after an Indian cobra (Naja naja) bite in the absence of any other predisposing factors for AAC.

We report a case of gas gangrene (GG) in a non-diabetic HIV seronegative man who died within 60 hours following an intramuscular injection in rural India. The occurrence of GG after intramuscular injection is rare and only a few cases have been reported in the published literature.

Unintentional organophosphate compound poisoning, although known, contamination of organophosphate compound through laundered uniform and subsequent transcutaneous absorption, in 30 children is reported herewith for its rarity. Emergency physicians have to recognize such entities clinically, confirm by laboratory means wherever possible, and intervene with appropriate measures.

A case of rabies is reported in a 28-year-old female who presented with features of increased sexual desire and heightened sexual arousal without provocation. Health care providers should be aware that marked changes in sexual behavior may be related to infection due to rabies.
