Traumatic bone cyst in the mandibular ramus - A diagnostic dilemma.

Traumatic bone cysts (TBCs) are uncommon, nonneoplastic lesions occurring more commonly in the metaphysis of the long bones and contribute to only 1% of the cysts occurring in the jaws. Seen more commonly in the mandible between the canine and third molar, their occurrence in the ramus-condyle region is very rare. The radiographic appearance of this lesion is like odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) or ameloblastoma and, therefore, extremely challenging to diagnose.

Laryngeal Nerves and Voice Change in Thyroid Surgery.

The low incidence of injury to the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) and external branch of the superior laryngeal nerve (EBSLN) quoted in the literature is derived from expert series. The exact incidence of nerve injury of a thyroid surgeon will be revealed only if pre-operative and post-operative laryngoscopy is becoming routine practice. It is found that the injury rates are increased with routine post-operative laryngoscopy.

A Novel Approach to Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy Tube Replacement: Can You Save the Site?

Inadvertent removal or dislodgement is the most commonly encountered complication in patients with percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube. Once the gastrocutaneous fistula is formed, bedside tube replacement can be performed at the same site, within 24 hours of dislodgement. Usually, after this timeframe, the tract closes; hence, it is recommended to perform a replacement at a different site.

Cesarean section endometriosis (CSE) can be caused by the iatrogenic deposition of endometrial cells, glands, and stroma during any time of the surgical procedure. Aim: Amidst COVID-19 pandemic, the health care delivery in India faces major challenges owing to the overwhelming hospitals, exhausted healthcare workers, and shortage of crucial medical supplies such as ventilators and oxygen. The study aims to propose a novel successful interventional home care model, the Virtual COVID In-Patient (VCIP) care for effective COVID management.

Methods: The Covid-19 positive patients enrolled in VCIP were chosen for the study.

Acceptability, Utility, and Cost of a Mobile Health Cancer Screening Education Application for Training Primary Care Physicians in India.

Purpose: Mobile health (mHealth)-based oncology education can be a powerful tool for providing cancer screening knowledge to physicians, as mobile technology is widely available and inexpensive. We developed a mobile application (M-OncoED) to educate physicians on cancer screening and tested the acceptability, utility, and cost of two different approaches to recruit physicians.

Methods: M-OncoED was designed to perform pre- and postlearning assessments through the in-built quizzes; present case studies and educational materials for cervical, breast, and oral cancer screening; collect responses to interactive queries; document module completion; send reminders and alerts; and track user metrics, including number of sessions to complete each module and time spent per session.

Background: Esophageal food impaction (EFI) is the third most common non-biliary emergency in gastroenterology, with an annual incidence rate of 13 episodes per 100,000 person-years and 1,500 deaths per year. We report the case of a 12-year-old boy presenting with recurrent episodes of jaundice and severe pruritis since childhood. An extensive workup was done to rule out all the possible etiologies.
