[Lower limb revascularization--a continuous challenge].

Revascularization of the lower extremity in patients with diabetes or chronic obstructive arterial disease is a challenging, still unsolved problem. Modern day technique (stem cell therapy, hyperbaric therapy) has yet to deliver satisfactory results. Homogenous (safenous vein) or heterogeneous (terom, dacron, PTFE-teflon) by-pass surgery is limited because of technical difficulty and positive outcomes have a short duration.

[Posterior fossa epidural hematoma].

Posterior fossa epidural hematomas (PFEH) are rare entities, with dark prognosis due to their specific localization. Because the simptomatology is usually nonspecific or poor, the CT should be performed as soon as posible. MRI does not offer suplimentary benefits/informations in the great majority of PFEH.

[Enteral non-Hodgkin lymphoma in young age--difficult diagnosis].

Lately, we have been confronted with an increased number of malignant tumors of the large bowel, appearing at younger patients. Among all histopathologic forms of malignant colonic tumors treated in our Clinic, lymphoma is the fifth as frequency of apparition, respectively the fourth at patients less than 40 years old. We present the case of a 22-years-old patient, having colonic polyposis and multicentric non-Hodgkin lymphoma of the terminal ileum and ascending colon.

Materials And Methods: Three cases of aspects of retinal vessels associated with aCL (antiphospholipid antibodies) present in patients with: slowly progressive memory problems, "atypical multiple sclerosis", amaurosis fugax in contraceptive treatment.

[Viral small bowel intussusception: a rare cause of intestinal obstruction].

Representing a rare cause of bowel obstruction, the ileal intussusception is commonly met in the pediatric surgery. Even if in children's cases the symptoms can mimick a multitude of abdominal syndromes, usually in adult cases the symptoms fit the pattern of the intestinal obstruction. This paper presents 2 clinical cases of small bowel intussusception in adult, the particularity of cases being that the pathogenesis couldn't be established first hand; the pathology exam revealed only minor inflammatory responses,including modest reactive lymph nodes in the vicinity of lesions, without further alterations.

[Neuro-ophthalmologic aspects in antiphospholipid syndrome].

Antiphospholipid syndrome is the one autoimmune noninflammatory syndrome affecting all blood vessels at any vascular segment, irrespective of the vascular size and topography. Defined in 1983 by Hughes, this syndrome represents the actual research theme in practically all medical fields, therefore the importance of antiphospholipid syndrome is recognized. The major aim of this article is to describe the neuro-ophthalmologic manifestations of the antiphospholipid syndrome, emphasizing the latest news about this syndrome and its impact on the retina and central nervous system.

[An extensive left subperiosteal frontotemporal orbital abscess and left suppurative pansinusitis with an odontogenic origin].

A 28-years-old patient with pansinusitis and orbital abscesses to odontogenic infection origin were present. Treatment, complication and evolution are discussed.

[Recurrent abdominal pains (RAP) in children (their definition, incidence and classification)].

The authors presents the particular aspects of recurrent abdominal pain in children. After the definition, they underline the main elements that characterise this syndrome. An important place is assigned to the classification of recurrent abdominal pain, three different conceptual methods being analysed in this article, concerning the etiopathogenesis of this syndrome.

[Neonatal convulsions: the current concepts and classification].

The authors presented a new classification of the neonatal convulsions, based on prolonged EEG registrations related to concomitant clinical or videorecording of fits. They focussed on the atypical neonatal convulsions and on the differential diagnosis between epileptic and nonepileptic seizures. Finally, they discussed the therapeutical consequences of these new conceptions about the conclusions in the neonate.

[The hematological manifestations in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in children].

The hematologic disorders that occur in HIV infected children are analysed by the authors, on the basis of some recent studies from current literature. There are emphasized the importance of the frequency of anemia, leukopenia and granulocytopenia. There are also stressed the pathogenic mechanisms of these disorders, their predictive significance and the rationale basis for therapeutics (actual and future treatment methods).

[Common dermatitis in infants (dermatitis seborrheica, atopic dermatitis and "diaper dermatitis")].

The most common dermatoses during early infancy are: seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis and diaper dermatitis. It is important to differentiate these conditions for prognostic and therapeutic reasons.
