A significant number of people, following acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, report persistent symptoms or new symptoms that are sustained over time, often affecting different body systems. This condition, commonly referred to as Long-COVID, requires a complex clinical management. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) show potential as a therapeutic tool for peripheral nerve injury (PNI), promoting neurological regeneration. However, there are limited data on the spatio-temporal trafficking and biodistribution of EVs. In this study, we introduce a new non-invasive near-infrared fluorescence imaging strategy based on glucose-conjugated quantum dot (QDs-Glu) labeling to target and track EVs in a sciatic nerve injury rat model in real-time.

Objective: To investigate the characteristics of the anterior tibiotalar fat pad (ATFP) in the ankle joint in a population of patients 1 year after an ankle sprain and its correlation with systemic factors and local articular pathology.
Design: The study is a secondary analysis of an observational case-control study. We included 206 patients who were followed 6-12 months after ankle sprain.

Total hip arthroplasty is performed more frequently in younger patients nowadays, making long-term bone stock preservation an important topic. A mechanism for late implant failure is periprosthetic bone loss, caused by stress shielding around the hip stem due to different load distribution. Short stems are designed to keep the physical loading in the proximal part of the femur to reduce stress shielding.

Introduction: Haemorrhage causes most preventable prehospital trauma deaths and about a third of in-hospital trauma deaths. Tranexamic acid (TXA), administered soon after hospital arrival in certain trauma systems, is an effective therapy in preventing or managing acute traumatic coagulopathy. This study aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between abnormal foot position and standing and walking ability in individuals with Rett syndrome (RTT), a rare neurological condition primarily affecting females, often accompanied by impaired gross motor function and musculoskeletal deformities. Through means of an online survey, physiotherapists were asked to share information about their work and experience with individuals with RTT. They were asked about their clients' scores on the Rett Syndrome Gross Motor Scale and measures of their foot deformity, passive range of motion of dorsiflexion of the foot, use of supportive footwear, pressure load on the foot, and symmetry in weight bearing.
