Diabetes mellitus (DM) increases the risk of aortic stenosis (AS) and worsens its pathophysiology in a sex-specific manner. Aldosterone/mineralocorticoid receptor (Aldo/MR) pathway participates in early stages of AS and in other diabetic-related cardiovascular complications. We aim to identify new sex-specific Aldo/MR targets in AS complicated with DM.

Following experimental TBI, Chi3l1 transcripts were detected in reactive astrocytes located within the pericontusional cortex. However, the cellular sources of CHI3L1 in response to hemorrhagic contusions in human brain remain unidentified.

Some studies have also shown a relationship between VM and cortical overgrowth, along with reduced cortical folding, both in fetuses and neonates.

Attitudes of future teachers toward death education: An analysis of the impact of multiple factors.

The aim of this research is to analyze the attitude of future teachers toward death education and which are the factors that influence their predisposition about it. For this, a quantitative study with a descriptive-inferential cross-sectional design was carried out with a sample composed of 204 Primary Education Degree students from the University of Malaga. The Death Education Attitudes Scale-Teachers was implemented as a validated instrument, in which biological, emotional, identity, contextual, formative and motivational factors were considered within the attitude's incidence.

We included population-level studies using secondary data and qualitatively assessed eligible studies.

Perianal mass as the debut of metastatic pulmonary neoplasia.

A 56-year-old male smoker presented to the Emergency Department with a painful mass in the left ischiorectal fossa, which had been present for 2 months without any other symptoms. On examination, a hard, violet-colored mass was observed, with an ulcerated central area. Blood tests were normal, and the abdominal-pelvic CT scan showed multiple hypervascular intra-abdominal masses and soft tissue lesions.

Is percutaneous sigmoidopexy a usefull aternative to high surgical risk patients to treat sigmoid volvulus?

This article presents two cases of elderly patients with recurrent sigmoid volvulus and significant comorbidities, making them unsuitable for surgery. Instead, percutaneous sigmoidopexy assisted by colonoscopy was performed. The procedure involved percutaneous puncture and fixation using T-sutures and endoscopic clips.
