This article summarizes the main results of a study about the disparagement of women politicians in Spain. The thematic analysis of 1,245 comments spontaneously posted on the forum reveals that the commenters feel entitled to humiliate and disparage the eight female politicians embattled by the hate speech posts. While the main targets of this form of harassment have been women representatives of left-wing parties, the focus of the disparaging attacks has been the female body.

Usefulness of the Columbia score for predicting outcomes in patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy. Analysis of the Galician registry of cardiac amyloidosis.

Aims: To evaluate the predictive value of the Columbia score in patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM).

Methods: Observational study based in a prospective, multi-centre registry of patients with ATTR-CM recruited between January-2018 and December-2023 in 7 Spanish hospitals. The Baseline Columbia score was correlated by means of multivariable Cox's regression with study endpoints all-cause death and all-cause death or heart failure (HF) hospitalisation.

Classification of Scanning Errors of Digital Scans Recorded by Using Intraoral Scanners.

Objectives: The different scanning errors that can be caused by the operator handling an intraoral scanner (IOS) or the intraoral conditions of the patient being scanned have not been described. The purpose of this review was to describe and classify the scanning errors that can be identified in digital scans recorded by using IOSs.

Overview: The identification of scanning errors in an intraoral scan and understanding the cause of these scanning errors are fundamental procedures for successfully handling an IOS and integrating these digital data acquisition technologies in dental practices.

Neratinib Efficacy in Patients With EGFR Exon 18-Mutant Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer: Findings From the SUMMIT Basket Trial.

Background: Activating mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene occur in 7% to 23% of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This work aimed to study the production, for the first time, of three fermented products of chestnut puree (CP) with milk kefir grains, a higher nisin-producing (Lactococcus (L.) lactis CECT 539) and a higher lactic acid-producing (Lactobacillus (Lb.) casei CECT 4043) lactic acid bacteria (LAB).

Solitary plasmacytoma: an unusual presentation.

This case highlights the importance of thoroughly investigating incidental findings, particularly in patients with unexplained symptoms. Solitary plasmacytoma, though rare and accounting for 4-5% of plasma cell dyscrasias, can occur outside the spine and may present without systemic symptoms. Early diagnosis through imaging and biopsy is crucial for appropriate management, as these lesions can be effectively treated if identified early.

In this study we determine the repeatability of smartphone application (MOBILE DA) to evaluate the cone-mediated dark adaptation (DA) in healthy young adults.

Methods: Testing was done by placing a smartphone in front of the subject in a dark room.

Impact of Lower Limb Lengthening with Telescopic Nails on Functionality and Quality of Life in Patients with Achondroplasia.

Introduction: The short stature characteristic of patients with achondroplasia can negatively affect health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Lower limb lengthening reusing telescopic intramedullary nails (TIMNs) offers an alternative to external fixators, with the potential to enhance functionality, self-esteem, and HRQoL, while reducing complication risks, which this study aims to evaluate.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included nine patients with achondroplasia who underwent parallel transverse lengthening of femurs and/or tibias reusing a TIMN between 2015 and 2022.

National Trends in Heart Failure Admission in Peru: Insights into Regional and Demographic Disparities from 2018 to 2023.

Background: Heart failure (HF) represents a significant public health challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, where demographic shifts and healthcare disparities influence disease patterns. This study aimed to analyze trends in HF admissions across Peru from 2018 to 2023.

Methods: We conducted a secondary data analysis from emergency department morbidity records in patients aged ≥20 years from the National Superintendence of Health (SUSALUD).

Lower perturbational complexity index after transcranial magnetic stimulation in schizophrenia patients.

Background: Informational integration and differentiation of the cortex can be tested by methods such as the perturbational complexity index (PCI) combined with TMS-induced activity perturbation. The PCI is obtained by stimulating the cortex with TMS and measuring the resulting spatiotemporal cortical responses with high-density EEG.

Methods: We have compared PCI between 26 patients with schizophrenia (15 males), 15 of them First Episode (FE) (7 males), and 22 healthy controls (12 males).

GINGIVAL COLOR WITH IMPLANT-SUPPORTED FIXED PROSTHESES (ISFP) AND THE IMPACT ON ESTHETIC OUTCOMES.

Objectives: To: 1) analyze possible differences in the CIEDE2000 lightness, chroma and hue of the gingiva at the free gingival margin (FGM) and the middle zone of keratinized gingiva (MZ) between participants with an ISFP in the maxillary anterior region and participants with natural dentition and healthy gums; and 2) examine the perceptibility/acceptability of the differences in CIEDE2000 lightness, chroma and hue and in overall color, using the Euclidean and CIEDE2000 formulae.

Methods: The L*, a* and b* color coordinates were measured in 60 adult participants (30 with an ISFP and 30 with healthy teeth and gums) using a Spectroshade™ Micro spectrophotometer. From these coordinates, the changes in lightness (ΔL'), chroma (ΔC') and hue (ΔH') CIEDE2000 between the participants with and without an ISFP were quantified.
