Background: Lung cancer screening (LCS) with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) is an efficient method that can reduce lung cancer mortality in high-risk individuals. However, few studies have attempted to measure the preferences for LDCT LCS service delivery. This study aimed to generate quantitative information on the Chinese population's preferences for LDCT LCS service delivery.

Prognosis of Patients with Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy: A Multicenter Cohort Study with Data-Driven Propensity Score Matching Analysis.

Background: Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) patients are reported to have a potential risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD); however, HCM with left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction, which is regarded as a risk indicator of SCD, is doubtful since the LVOT gradient is dynamic and may be confounded by various environmental factors and routine activities. The purpose of this study was to explore the clinical prognosis of HOCM through a multicenter cohort study with data-driven propensity score matching (PSM) analysis.

Methods: The cohort included 2268 patients with HCM from 1996 to 2021 in 13 tertiary hospitals.

Annual report text's positive tone and corporate green innovation: Evidence from China.

From the perspective of annual report text information, we study the relationship between the annual report text's positive tone and corporate green innovation. Taking listed companies from 2010 to 2022 as a sample, we found that the positive tone of the annual report text significantly improves the company's green innovation while improving the quantity and quality of green innovation. The mechanism test shows that the main channels are easing corporate financing constraints and enhancing external attention.

Diffusion probabilistic model for bike-sharing demand recovery with factual knowledge fusion.

The mining of diverse patterns from bike flow has attracted widespread interest from researchers and practitioners. Prior arts concentrate on forecasting the flow evolution from bike demand records. This paper introduces an energy transition model featuring a carbon-intensive manufacturer that adopts sustainable insurance, participates in a cap-and-trade scheme, and implements carbon capture and storage (CCS) transit, all aimed at achieving the net-zero carbon emission target. The model utilizes a down-and-out call (DOC) approach to evaluate the manufacturer's equity, considering the bankruptcy risk prior to maturity due to carbon intensity. The equity of the life insurer providing funds is assessed using a capped DOC method to address the capped credit risk from the manufacturer.

Digital infrastructure expansion and carbon intensity of small enterprises: Evidence from China.

While the growth of digital infrastructure theoretically offers increased opportunities for enterprises, the policy implications may vary depending on the firm size. We utilize the pilot policy of the Broadband China Strategy as an exogenous shock for firms and adopt a unique dataset from the National Tax Survey to investigate the impact of digital infrastructure expansion on the carbon intensity of small enterprises. The results indicate that digital infrastructure expansion leads to a notable increase of 9.

Assessing green production efficiency and spatial characteristics of China's real estate industry based on the undesirable super-SBM model.

As China strives to balance rapid urbanization with environmental conservation, increasing attention is being paid to the pursuit of green production efficiency (GPE) in the real estate industry. The undesirable super-SBM model was used to calculate the GPE of China's real estate industry from 2001 to 2020. Additionally, GPE spatial distribution characteristics in China's real estate industry were analyzed using the standard deviation ellipse (SDE), Moran's index, Theil index, random kernel density estimation (RKDA), and spatial Markov chain (SMC) methods.

Conformity behavior in crises: evidence from the COVID-19 epidemic in China.

Once a mass health crisis breaks out, it causes concern among whole societies. Thus, understanding the individual's behavior in response to such events is key in government crisis management. From the perspective of social influence theory, this study adopts the empirical research method to collect data information in February 2020 through online survey, with a view to comprehensively describe the individuals'conformity behavior during the COVID-19 outbreak in China.

The economic and environmental effects of China's environmental expenditure under financing constraints.

Sound ecological and environmental governance systems are critical for promoting green and low-carbon economic transformation and high-quality development. However, financing constraints are major obstacle to the revitalization and transformation of China's real economy. In this study, we constructed an environmental dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (E-DSGE) model that incorporates two types of environmental expenditure and financing constraints, and discussed their economic and environmental effects.

Share pledge and accounting conservatism in share-pledging firms: Evidence from a natural experiment in China.

This paper focuses on firms in which insiders pledge their shares as collateral for loans. By investigating a natural experiment-China's enactment of provisions on share reductions that restrict pledge creditors' cashing-out behavior-we find that pledging firms exhibited more conservative financial reporting after the implementation than non-pledging firms. This effect was pronounced in firms with a higher ratio of pledged shares, a longer maturation period of the pledged shares, and more concentrated pledge creditors.

The impact of teaching presence on students' online learning experience: evidence from 334 Chinese universities during the pandemic.

Teaching presence is the core role of teachers in online education and is the most promising mechanism for developing online learning communities. Drawing on the theoretical framework of teaching presence, and based on data from an online survey of university students from 334 Chinese universities, this study constructs a framework for teaching presence and compares the differences in teaching presence among different student groups, and further explores the impact of teaching presence on students' online learning experience and its heterogeneity in terms of gender and discipline. The study finds that teaching presence includes three dimensions: instructional design and organization, facilitating interaction, and direct instruction, and there are differences among different groups.

A simple machine learning model for the prediction of acute kidney injury following noncardiac surgery in geriatric patients: a prospective cohort study.

Background: Surgery in geriatric patients often poses risk of major postoperative complications. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication following noncardiac surgery and is associated with increased mortality. Early identification of geriatric patients at high risk of AKI could facilitate preventive measures and improve patient prognosis.

However, relying solely on policy often proves less effective, necessitating support from financial development. Safeguarding China's long-term sustainability against systemic disruptors.

China's long-term sustainability faces socioeconomic and environmental uncertainties. We identify five key systemic risk drivers, called disruptors, which could push China into a polycrisis: pandemic disease, ageing and shrinking population, deglobalization, climate change, and biodiversity loss. Using an integrated simulation model, we quantify the effects of these disruptors on the country's long-term sustainability framed by 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Numerical simulation and experimental verification of the velocity field in asymmetric circular bends.

To address the measurement accuracy challenges posed by the internal flow complexity in atypical circular bend pipes with short turning sections and without extended straight pipe segments, this study designed an experimental circular "S"-shaped bent pipe with a diameter of 0.4 m and a bending angle of 135°. Numerical analysis was used to determine the stable region for velocity distribution within the experimental segment.

Achieving zero emission targets: The influence of green bonds on clean energy investment and environmental quality.

The effectiveness of green finance in driving clean energy and environmental sustainability in the current era is receiving attention. Therefore, this study proposes an empirical framework highlighting the effects of green bonds (GB) on clean energy investment (CEI), clean energy investment efficiency (CEE) and environmental sustainability of 29 green bond issuing countries between 2014 and 2022. Using system and difference GMM approaches, this study finds that (i) green bond issuance drives clean energy investment.

Clinical research text summarization method based on fusion of domain knowledge.

Objective: The objective of this study is to integrate PICO knowledge into the clinical research text summarization process, aiming to enhance the model's comprehension of biomedical texts while capturing crucial content from the perspective of summary readers, ultimately improving the quality of summaries.

Methods: We propose a clinical research text summarization method called DKGE-PEGASUS (Domain-Knowledge and Graph Convolutional Enhanced PEGASUS), which is based on integrating domain knowledge. The model mainly consists of three components: a PICO label prediction module, a text information re-mining unit based on Graph Convolutional Neural Networks (GCN), and a pre-trained summarization model.

The benefits of physical exercise on older adults' cognitive function: A cohort study exploring potential mechanisms.
