Methods: An 11-week double-blind placebo-controlled trial was performed in Chinese pDPN patients randomized (1 : 1) to 300 mg/day pregabalin or placebo. The primary outcome was change from baseline to endpoint in mean pain score (MPS; 0, no pain; 10, worst possible pain; using the mean of the last seven daily pain scores).

Objective: To study the clinical efficacy of nasal synchronous intermittent mandatory ventilation (nSIMV) in premature infants with severe respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) after extubation.

Methods: A retrospective analysis on the clinical date of 126 premature infants with severe RDS who were hospitalized in the NICU between January 2013 and May 2015 was performed. Sixty-one premature infants who were hospitalized in the NICU between January 2013 and March 2014 received nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) (nCPAP group) and 65 premature infants who were hospitalized in the NICU between April 2014 and May 2015 received nSIMV (nSIMV group).

Giant congenital lower lip nevus restored by local advanced skin flap: a case report.

Introduction: A congenital lower lip nevus is common, but a lower lip length lesion of more than 40% is hard to excise simply, without any distortion. We designed a lower lip bilateral advanced skin flap to restore the wound surface after completely and successfully removing the nevus.

Uterine massage to reduce blood loss after vaginal delivery: a randomized controlled trial.

Objective: To evaluate whether sustained transabdominal uterine massage can reduce blood loss after vaginal delivery.

Methods: In this multicenter randomized controlled trial, eligible women who had delivered vaginally were randomly assigned to receive 10 units oxytocin intramuscularly immediately after delivery of the shoulder plus 30 minutes of sustained transabdominal uterine massage after delivery of the placenta or to 10 units oxytocin intramuscularly alone. The primary outcome was blood loss of 400 mL or more in the 2 hours after delivery of the neonate.

Effect of laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery on type 2 diabetes mellitus with hypertension: a randomized controlled trial.

Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgery compared with usual care with and without Exenatide therapy in obese people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and hypertension.

Methods: 108 obese T2DM with hypertension were enrolled and randomly allocated to usual care (group A), usual care plus Exenatide (group B), and RYGB surgery (group C). Demographic characteristics, metabolic parameters and cardiac structure/function along with inflammatory cytokines were measured and compared before and after 12 months.

An alternative radiographic measure for cam-type FAI in patients with idiopathic hip pain.

Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) has been accepted as a potential cause of idiopathic hip pain and osteoarthritis. Few cases of FAI have been reported in the Chinese population. We reviewed radiographic features of patients with idiopathic hip pain to characterize FAI in the Chinese population, any alternative radiographic measures, and potential symptom association.
