A preliminary study was conducted using electronic portal imaging device (EPID) based dose verification in pre-treatment and in vivo dose reconstruction modes for breast cancer intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) technique with known repositioning set-up errors. For 43 IMRT plans, the set-up errors were determined from 43 sets of EPID images and 258 sets of cone beam computed tomography images. In-house developed Edose software was used to reconstruct the dose distribution using the pre-treatment and on-treatment (in vivo) EPID acquired fluence maps.

To study the performance of the Siemens Atellica DL IM1600 automatic immune analyzer detection system for thyroid peroxidase antibodies (A-TPO) and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (A-TG). Perform performance verification based on CNAS and CLSI related documents, including precision, accuracy, reference interval, and linearity. In precision validation, intra-batch imprecision coefficient of variation values of A-TG and A-TPO were 3.

Background: Growing evidence suggests a link between vitamin K (VK) intake and depression, although the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We aimed to investigate whether oxidative balance scores (OBS) mediate the association between VK intake and depression in participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007-2018.
Methods: We analyzed data from 30,408 individuals.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a double antigen sandwich ELISA (DAgS-ELISA) method for more efficient, accurate, and quantitative detection of total antibodies against Candida albicans enolase1 (CaEno1) for diagnosing invasive candidiasis (IC).
Methods: DAgS-ELISA was developed using recombinant CaEno1 and a monoclonal antibody as the standard. Performance evaluation included limit of detection, accuracy, and repeatability.

Background And Aims: Previous research has underscored the association between oily fish intake and type 2 diabetes (T2DM), yet the causality remains elusive.
Methods: A bidirectional univariable Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis was employed to evaluate the causal effects of oily fish and non-oily fish intake on T2DM. Replication analysis and meta-analysis were conducted to ensure robust results.

Ferroptosis is a form of lipid peroxidation dependent on iron and reactive oxygen species that differs from other forms of programmed cell death at the morphological and biochemical levels. Andrographolide (AG), a natural diterpenoid lactone compound extracted from , has been shown to have therapeutic effects in kidney disease.

Background: Many KOA patients have not reached indications for surgery, thus we need to find effective non-surgical treatments. Acupuncture is thought to have the potential to modulate inflammation and cytokines in KOA through the immune system. However, the mechanisms have not been elucidated, and there is no network Meta-analysis of acupuncture on KOA animals.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, elderly patients with underlying condition, such as tumors, had poor prognoses after progressing to severe pneumonia and often had poor response to standard treatment. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) may be a promising treatment for patients with severe pneumonia, but MSCs are rarely used for patients with carcinoma. Here, we reported a 67-year-old female patient with lung adenocarcinoma who underwent osimertinib and radiotherapy and suffered from radiation pneumonitis.

Background: More than half of cancer patients develop severe chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), resulting in low quality of life, negative effects on function, and challenges in treatment compliance. Most recent studies have shown that exercise therapy has a positive impact on reducing CIPN symptoms and can also improve quality of life, balance, and activity levels. The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the effect of exercise therapy on the efficacy of CIPN.

Increasing evidence indicates that chronic, low-grade inflammation is a significant contributor to the fundamental pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Efferocytosis, an effective way to eliminate apoptotic cells (ACs), plays a critical role in inflammation resolution. Massive accumulation of ACs and the proliferation of persistent inflammation caused by defective efferocytosis have been proven to be closely associated with pancreatic islet β cell destruction, adipose tissue inflammation, skeletal muscle dysfunction, and liver metabolism abnormalities, which together are considered the most fundamental pathological mechanism underlying T2DM.

Persistent and negative stress stimulation is one of the most important factors leading to anxiety and depression in individuals, and it can negatively affect the normal function and structure of brain-related regions. However, the maladaptive changes of brain neural networks in anxiety and depression induced by chronic stress have not been explored in detail. In this study, we analyzed the changes in global information transfer efficiency, stress related blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD)- and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)- signals and functional connectivity (FC) in rat models based on resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI).

Background: This study sought to explore the role and molecular mechanism of circ_0049271 in hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R)-induced cardiomyocyte injury.
Methods: Significantly upregulated circular ribonucleic acids (circRNAs) in Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) data sets were identified using a Venn diagram. A H9c2 (rat cardiomyocytes) cell model of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) was induced by 1% H/R.

E3 ubiquitin ligases (E3s), the second most common cancer-related functional protein family, play vital roles in multiple tumors. However, their importance in prognosis and immunotherapy of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is not clear. First, utilizing the data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), we comprehensively assessed the expression profile and immunological association of 13 E3s in LUAD patients.

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) is a naturally degradable polyester with good biocompatibility. However, several disadvantages including poor bioactivity and mechanical properties limit the biomedical application of PHA. To circumvent these drawbacks, PHA needs to be blended with other materials to improve performance.

Objective: The neuroprotective effect of dexmedetomidine (DEX) has been demonstrated in hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) animal models, the mechanism of which will be the foothold in this work.
Methods: After establishment of HIBD rat model, the rats were treated with DEX, miR-20a-5p agomir and adenoviral methionine adenosyltransferase 2B (MAT2B) overexpression vector, and then their brain tissues were harvested. The infarction volume and pathological changes of these brain tissues were measured using the triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC), Nissl and hematoxylin-eosin (HE) stainings.
