Objectives: To explore the feasibility of predicting overall survival (OS) of patients with midline glioma using multi-parameter magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features.
Methods: Data of 84 patients with midline gliomas were retrospectively collected, including 40 patients with OS > 12 months (28 cases were adults, 14 cases were H3 K27M-mutation) and 44 patients with OS < 12 months (29 cases were adults, 31 cases were H3 K27M-mutation). Features were extracted from the largest slice of tumors, which were manually segmented on T2-weighted (T2w), T2 fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (T2 FLAIR), and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted (T1c) images.

A multifunctional nanoplatform with core-shell structure was constructed in one-pot for the synergistic photothermal, photodynamic, and chemotherapy against breast cancer. In the presence of gambogic acid (GA) as the heat-shock protein 90 (HSP90) inhibitor and the gold nanostars (AuNS) as the photothermal reagent, the assembly of Zr with tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (TCPP) gave rise to the nanocomposite AuNS@ZrTCPP-GA (AZG), which in turn, further coated with PEGylated liposome (LP) to enhance the stability and biocompatibility, and consequently the antitumor effect of the particle. Upon cellular uptake, the nanoscale metal - organic framework (NMOF) of ZrTCPP in the resulted AuNS@ZrTCPP-GA@LP (AZGL) could be slowly degraded in the weak acidic tumor microenvironment to release AuNS, Zr, TCPP, and GA to exert the synergistic treatment of tumors via the combination of AuNS-mediated mild photothermal therapy (PTT) and TCPP-mediated photodynamic therapy (PDT).

The morphological evaluation of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in hematoxylin and eosin (H& E)-stained histopathological images is the key to breast cancer (BCa) diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic response prediction. For now, the qualitative assessment of TILs is carried out by pathologists, and computer-aided automatic lymphocyte measurement is still a great challenge because of the small size and complex distribution of lymphocytes. In this paper, we propose a novel dense dual-task network (DDTNet) to simultaneously achieve automatic TIL detection and segmentation in histopathological images.

Aim: To determine the correlations between four quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) parameters derived from intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted images (IVIM DWI) and the semi-quantitative Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium of Canada (SPARCC) score of the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) and five clinical activity indices in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA).
And Methods: A total of 75 patients with axSpA and complete clinical activity indices and SIJ MRI were enrolled to this prospective study. Univariable and multivariable linear regression analyses were performed to evaluate correlations between MRI parameters and clinical activity indices after controlling for confounders.

Purpose: To explore the diagnostic performance of the optimized threshold values on IVIM to detect the activity in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) patients.
Method: 40 axSpA patients in the active group, 144 axSpA patients in the inactive group, and 20 healthy volunteers were used to evaluate the tissue diffusion coefficient ( ), perfusion fraction (), and pseudodiffusion coefficient ( ) with thresholds of 10, 20, and 30 s/mm. The Kruskal-Wallis test and one way ANOVA test was used to compare the different activity among the three groups in axSpA patients, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was applied to evaluate the performance for , , and to detect the activity in axSpA patients, respectively.

Methods: A total of 77 axSpA patients with hip involvement (60 males; median age, 25 years; interquartile, 22-31 years old) were treated with a drug recommended by the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis international Society and the European League Against Rheumatism (ASAS-EULAR) management. They were prospectively enrolled according to Assessment in SpondyloArthritis international Society (ASAS) criteria.

Background: Marrow fat exists as a distinct adipose tissue and plays a critical role in affecting both the quantity and quality of bone. However, the effect of soccer training on marrow fat has been rarely reported. This study aims to evaluate and characterize the marrow fat content and composition in different bone areas of soccer players and age-matched healthy subjects using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS).

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) raging around the world still has not been effectively controlled in most countries and regions. As a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus, in addition to the most common infectious pneumonia, it can also cause digestive system disease such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, liver function damage, In medical imaging, it manifests as thickening of the intestinal wall, intestinal perforation, pneumoperitoneum, ascites and decreased liver density. Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 has great significance in COVID-19-related digestive tract diseases.

Excellent imaging performance and good biocompatibility of contrast agents are considered as prerequisites for accurate tumor diagnosis. In this study, a novel imaging nanoprobe with actively targeting performance based on ultrasmall paramagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) nanoparticles was constructed by a facile cation exchange strategy followed by conjugation with transferrin (Tf). The stable gadolinium (Gd3+) chelation endows the nanoparticles (NPs) with a low value of r2/r1 (1.

Osteoporosis is a prevalent but underdiagnosed condition. As compared to dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) measures, we aimed to develop a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) model to classify osteopenia and osteoporosis with the use of lumbar spine X-ray images. Herein, we developed the DCNN models based on the training dataset, which comprising 1616 lumbar spine X-ray images from 808 postmenopausal women (aged 50 to 92 years).

Background: Surgical treatment of sacral fractures is difficult, both for reduction and stabilization. Traditional surgical reduction and internal fixation require a long duration of operation leading to extra blood loss, extensive tissue damage, and increased risk of post-operation complications. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of a minimally invasive technique that could be more effective, more tissue sparing, and lead to less bleeding.

Natural killer (NK) cells represent the founding members of innate lymphoid cells (ILC) and play critical roles in inflammation and the immune response. NK cell effector functions are regulated and fine-tuned by various immune modulators. Mannan (or mannose)-binding lectin (MBL), a soluble C-type lectin, is traditionally recognized as an initiator of the complement pathway.

The collagen density is not detected in the patellar tendon (PT), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in clinic. We assess the technical feasibility of three-dimension multiecho fat saturated ultrashort echo time cones (3D FS-UTE-Cones) acquisitions for single- and bicomponent T2⁎ analysis of bound and free water pools in PT, PCL, and ACL in clinic. The knees of five healthy volunteers and six knee joint samples from cadavers were scanned via 3D multiecho FS-UTE-Cones acquisitions on a clinical scanner.
