Background: To a large extent, the ovarian reserve determines a woman's reproductive potential. The etiological and pathological mechanisms of diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) remain unclear, and no reliable treatment is currently available for DOR. Adipokines and cytokines in follicular fluid (FF) play pivotal roles in follicular development and maturation.

Introduction: Uricase replacement therapy is a promising approach for managing hyperuricemia and gout but is hindered by challenges such as short blood circulation time, reduced catalytic activity, and excessive hydrogen peroxide (HO) production. These limitations necessitate innovative strategies to enhance therapeutic efficacy and safety.
Methods: We designed and synthesized RBC@SeMSN@Uri, a red blood cell-coated biomimetic self-cascade bioreactor, which encapsulates uricase (Uri) and a selenium-based nano-scavenger (SeMSN) within RBC membranes.

Psoriasis is a prevalent, chronic inflammatory disease characterized by abnormal skin plaques. To date, physical therapy, topical therapy, systemic therapy and biologic drugs are the most commonly employed strategies for treating psoriasis. Recently, many agents have advanced to clinical trials, and some anti-psoriasis drugs have been approved, including antibody drugs and small-molecule drugs.

The aim of this study was to investigate how ultraviolet B (UVB) light regulates AP-1 expression via the β2-adrenergic receptor (β2-AR) in epidermal keratinocytes, which in turn regulates melanin synthesis in melanocytes, thereby modulating downstream melanin production in skin hair follicles and altering mouse skin color. We established a UV-irradiated mouse model to investigate the effects of UV radiation on changes in skin color. By measuring changes in the expression of genes related to cutaneous sympathetic nerves, norepinephrine synthesis and melanin synthesis, we investigated the relationship between β2-AR expression and cutaneous melanogenesis and determined the localization of β2-AR in cells.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) positive gastric cancer (GC) shows a robust response to the combined therapy based HER2-targeted therapy. The application of these therapies is highly dependent on the evaluation of tumor HER2 status. However, there are many risks and challenges in HER2 assessment in GC.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors play an important role in the treatment of solid tumors, but the currently used immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting programmed cell death-1 (PD-1), programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1), and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) show limited clinical efficacy in many breast cancers. B7H3 has been widely reported as an immunosuppressive molecule, but its immunological function in breast cancer patients remains unclear.
Methods: We analyzed the expression of B7H3 in breast cancer samples using data from the Cancer Genome Atlas Program (TCGA) and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly heterogeneous and aggressive brain tumor, which presents significant challenges for treatment in clinical settings. Phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitors can prevent the degradation of cAMP and have been used as a potential targeted therapeutic approach for different cancer types. However, their clinical use is restricted by side effects such as nausea and vomiting.

High-fat diet (HFD)-induced microglial activation contributes to hypothalamic inflammation and obesity, but the mechanisms linking microglia to structural changes remain unclear. This study explored the role of microglia in impairing hypothalamic synaptic plasticity in diet-induced obesity mice and evaluated the therapeutic potential of semaglutide (Sema) and minocycline (MI). Six-week-old C57BL/6J mice were divided into low-fat diet and HFD groups.

Objective: To investigate the mechanism by which heterogeneity in breast cancer developed and acted in single-cell transcriptomes.
Methods: The composition of breast cancer based on the single-cell transcriptomes of 54,055 high-quality cells from clinical specimens of 4 malignant and 4 non-malignant patients were investigated.
Results: We identified six common expression programs and six subtype-specific expression programs form malignant epithelial cells.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) has become the pre-dominant arrhythmia worldwide and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Its pathogenesis is intricately linked to the deleterious impact of cardiovascular risk factors, emphasizing the pivotal imperative for early detection and mitigation strategies targeting these factors for the prevention of primary AF. While traditional risk factors are well recognized, an increasing number of novel risk factors have been identified in recent decades.

Periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PDLFs) play a crucial role in the etiology of periodontitis and periodontal tissue regeneration. In healthy periodontal tissues, PDLFs maintain the homeostasis of periodontal soft and hard tissues as well as the local immune microenvironment. PDLFs also have the potential for multidirectional transdifferentiation and are involved in periodontal tissue regeneration.

White adipose tissue (WAT) browning is considered a promising strategy to combat obesity and related metabolic diseases. Currently, fat-water fraction (FWF) has been used as a marker for the loss of lipids associated with WAT browning. However, FWF may not be sensitive to metabolic changes and cannot specifically reflect iron-regulated metabolism during browning.
