Background: Disulfidptosis is a novel form of cell death triggered by disulfide stress that may have important implications for breast cancer (BC) pathogenesis. Nevertheless, studies identifying disulfidptosis-associated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in BC have not been reported. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic potential of disulfidptosis-related lncRNAs in BC.

With the accumulation of knowledge on aging, people have gradually realized that among the many factors that cause individual aging, the accumulation of aging cells is an essential cause of organ degeneration and, ultimately, age-related diseases. Most cells present in the bone microenvironment gradually age over time, leading to an imbalance of osteogenesis, osteoclastogenesis, adipogenesis, and chondrogenesis. This imbalance contributes to age-related bone loss and the development of age-related bone diseases, such as osteoporosis.

Objectives: To describe the associations between OA-related biochemical markers and knee symptoms in middle-aged adults followed up over 10-13 years.
Methods: Blood samples were collected during the Childhood Determinants of Adult Health (CDAH)-1 study (year: 2004-06) and 10-13 year follow-up at CDAH-3. Serum samples from baseline (n=156) and follow-up (n=167) were analyzed for three OA-related biomarkers [cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-3, and hyaluronan (HA)] using non-isotopic enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Objective: Anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5-positive dermatomyositis-associated interstitial lung disease (MDA5DM-ILD) often leads to acute respiratory failure and endangers lives. This study quantitatively analysed chest high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) images to assess MDA5DM-ILD and establish a risk prediction model for severe ILD within six months.
Methods: We developed a 'Standardized Threshold Ratio Analysis & Distribution' (STRAD) to analyse lung HRCT images.

Recently, studies on FAM96B functions mainly focused on its role in maintaining the normal physiological function of cells. However, the clinical implications of FAM96B in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are still unclear. FAM96B mRNA expression was detected in human HCC tissues and the matched nontumorous tissues by quantitative real-time reverse transcription (qRT-PCR) and then validated in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database.

Salinomycin is a polyether ionophore widely used for the treatment of coccidiosis in poultry. However, the emergence of coccidia strains resistant to salinomycin presents challenges for control efforts, and the mechanisms underlying this resistance in Eimeria remain inadequately understood. In this study, 78 stable salinomycin-resistant strains were generated through experimental evolution approaches.

Background: Synthetic CRISPR-Cas9 gene drive has been developed to control harmful species. However, resistance to Cas9 gene drive can be acquired easily when DNA repair mechanisms patch up the genetic insults introduced by Cas9 and incorporate mutations to the sgRNA target. Although many strategies to reduce the occurrence of resistance have been developed so far, they are difficult to implement and not always effective.

Background: Advanced prostate cancer (PCa) often initially responds to androgen receptor signaling inhibitors (ARSI) but frequently develops resistance, driven by tumor heterogeneity and therapeutic pressure. Addressing the clinical challenge of identifying non-responsive patients and discovering new therapeutic targets is urgently needed.
Methods: We utilized single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) to elucidate the influence of the GG-NER pathway on ARSI response in PCa.

Cancer cells acquire the ability to reprogram their phenotype in response to targeted therapies, yet the transition from dormancy to proliferation in drug-resistant cancers remains poorly understood. In prostate cancer, we utilized high-plasticity mouse models and enzalutamide-resistant (ENZ-R) cellular models to elucidate NR2F1 as a key factor in lineage transition and ENZ resistance. Depletion of NR2F1 drives ENZ-R cells into a relative dormancy state, characterized by reduced proliferation and heightened drug resistance, while NR2F1 overexpression yields contrasting outcomes.

Background: Diabetes, a chronic disease necessitating long-term treatment and self-management, presents significant challenges for patients who spend most of their treatment time outside of hospitals. The potential of digital therapeutics for diabetes has garnered recognition from different organizations. Although some prior studies have demonstrated successful reductions in patients' blood glucose levels and body weight through digital diabetes programs, many studies were limited by including prediabetes patients, patients treated with mostly premixed insulin, or evaluating user engagement outcomes rather than clinical outcomes.
