Background: There is a close relationship between radiotherapy and autophagy in tumors, but the prognostic role of radiotherapy-related autophagy genes (RRAGs) in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains unclear.

Methods: Data used in the current study were extracted from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was executed to recognize module genes associated with radiotherapy.

Construction of a Novel Prognostic Model in Lung Adenocarcinoma Based on 7-Methylguanosine-Related Gene Signatures.

Increasing evidence has implicated the modification of 7-methylguanosine (mG), a type of RNA modification, in tumor progression. However, no comprehensive analysis to date has summarized the predicted role of mG-related gene signatures in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Herein, we aimed to develop a novel prognostic model in LUAD based on mG-related gene signatures.

Systematic review and meta-analysis of diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) studies: the role of cerebral perfusion imaging in prognosis evaluation of mild cognitive impairment.

Background: The application value of cerebral perfusion imaging, such as fluorodeoxyglucose-positron-emission computed tomography (FDG-PET), single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), in the prognostic assessment of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) remains unclear. Thus, it was the focus of this meta-analysis, which aimed to provide a theoretical basis for early diagnosis of neurological diseases.

Methods: The Boolean logic retrieval method was used to retrieve related literature, with "cognitive disorder", "cerebral perfusion imaging", "cerebral imaging", "mild cognitive impairment", and "prognostic assessment" as search terms.

A randomized trial comparing the clinical efficacy and safety of a novel steerable percutaneous kyphoplasty with traditional PKP in osteoporotic vertebral fractures.

Background: Percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) is a highly practical technology to treat osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs). However, the operation time and radiation exposure remain problematic. This study explored the differences in surgical effects and safety between a novel steerable percutaneous kyphoplasty (S-PKP) and traditional PKP in order to achieve better clinical outcomes for OVCF patients.

Efficacy and Safety of Platinum-Based Chemotherapy as First-Line Therapy for Metastatic Triple-Negative Breast Cancer: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Background: Triple-negative breast cancer constitutes approximately 12%-17% of all breast cancer cases, and >33% of patients develop distant metastases. Systemic cytotoxic chemotherapy is the primary treatment for patients with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer; however, the role of first-line platinum-based chemotherapy in these patients remains controversial. This meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy and safety of platinum-based first-line chemotherapy for patients with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer.

First Identification of a Patient with Prosthesis-Related Infection Caused by an MCR-1.1-Producing ST131 After Rhinoplasty.

Background: The most common procedure of rhinoplasty is the implantation of a synthetic prosthesis. However, the complications, especially postoperative infection, could lead the suboptimal aesthetic outcome, economic losses and health threats. There is currently little literature providing an incidence of rhinoplasty infection and microbiological and antimicrobial resistance situations.

Is there a correlation between upper lumbar disc herniation and multifidus muscle degeneration? A retrospective study of MRI morphology.

Background: The purpose of the study is to investigate the correlation between upper lumbar disc herniation (ULDH) and multifidus muscle degeneration via the comparison of width, the cross-sectional area and degree of fatty infiltration of the lumbar multifidus muscle.

Methods: Using the axial T2-weighted images of magnetic resonance imaging as an assessment tool, we retrospectively investigated 132 patients with ULDH and 132 healthy individuals. The total muscle cross-sectional area (TMCSA) and the pure muscle cross-sectional area (PMCSA) of the multifidus muscle at the L1/2, L2/3, and L3/4 intervertebral disc levels were measured respectively, and in the meantime, the average multifidus muscle width (AMMW) and degree of fatty infiltration of bilateral multifidus muscle were evaluated.

Hip-Joint CT Image Segmentation Based on Hidden Markov Model with Gauss Regression Constraints.

Hip-joint CT images have low organizational contrast, irregular shape of boundaries and image noises. Traditional segmentation algorithms often require manual intervention or introduction of some prior information, which results in low efficiency and is unable to meet clinical needs. In order to overcome the sensitivity of classical fuzzy clustering image segmentation algorithm to image noise, this paper proposes a fuzzy clustering image segmentation algorithm combining Gaussian regression model (GRM) and hidden Markov random field (HMRF).
