This study utilized The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database to identify cuproptosis-related long non-coding RNAs (CRlncRNAs) in patients with kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) which was further applied to construct risk signatures. All KIRC patients were divided into the training and the validation sets at a ratio of 7:3. Lasso regression analysis identified two prognosis-associated CRlncRNAs (LINC01204 and LINC01711), and prognostic risk signatures were constructed in both the training and the validation sets.

Background: Whether combining the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score at admission with inflammation-based markers can improve performance of prediction and risk stratification of patients with sepsis, compared to use of the SOFA score alone, remains unknown.
Methods: Data from septic patients included in the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care database (MIMIC-IV) database were used for model development and internal validation. We developed a predictive nomogram model that included SOFA score, Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), red cell distribution width (RDW), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), and mean corpuscular volume (MCV) values.

In this study, a porphyrin-based heterobimetallic 2D metal organic framework (MOF), [(ZnTCPP)Co(MeIm)] (1), is successfully self-assembled from the zinc(II) tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphine (ZnTCPP) linker and cobalt(II) ions in the presence of 2-methylimidazole (MeIm) by a facile one-pot reaction in methanol at room temperature. On the basis of the experimental results and the theoretical calculations, the MOF 1 contains paddle-wheel [Co(-CO)] secondary building units (SBUs) axially coordinated by a MeIm ligand, which is very beneficial to the electron transfer between the Co(II) ions and oxygen.

Tumor bone metastasis is an important cause of tumor recurrence and death. Although bone-targeting nanoparticles decorated with targeting ligands have shown good affinity for bone tissues with the properties of adhesion to the bone matrix, it is not easy to detach from the surface of the bone matrix in the tumor-bone microenvironment, attributed to the robust coordination force between the targeting ligands, such as bisphosphates with bone-deposited calcium. This may hinder the transport of nanoparticles from bone tissue to bone metastatic tumors.

The manipulation of the interaction between molecules and photonic-plasmonic hybrid structures is critical for the application of surface-enhanced spectroscopy (SES). Herein, we report a study on the mode coupling mechanism and SES performance in a typical optoplasmonic system constructed with a polystyrene microsphere (PS MS) resonator and gold nanoparticles (Au NPs). The mode coupling mechanism was found to be closely dependent on the relative positions of PS MS, Au NPs, and molecules in the optoplasmonic system, based on which selectively enhanced Raman and fluorescence signals of molecules can be realized the collaboration of enhancement and quenching channels of the PS MS and Au NPs.
