Surgery remains the first option for curing early stage lung cancer. However, many patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage, and thus miss the chance to undergo surgery. As such patients derive limited benefits from chemotherapy or radiotherapy, alternatives based on local control have emerged, including iodine-125 seed implantation.

Objective: To bring forward an arthroscopic classification of the popliteomeniscal fascicles of the lateral meniscus (PFLM) tears.
Design: Six fresh frozen knee joint samples of adult males were chosen, and the lateral meniscus at the popliteal hiatus region were measured to analyze their anatomic relationship. Patients who had received magnetic resonance imaging scan at knee joint before the surgery and diagnosed as PFLM tears by arthroscopy from April 2014 to October 2017 were selected.

A polylactide composite fracture fixator loaded with vancomycin cationic liposome (PLA@VL) was prepared by reverse evaporation method. The method of cationic liposome encapsulating vancomycin could effectively improve antibacterial property and achieve drug sustained release effect, so as to reduce toxicity of antibiotics in vivo. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to observe morphology and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to detect the composition of the internal fixator.

Wound healing is the treatment problem after deep second degree (II°) burns. The p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) and nuclear factor-κB/inhibitory factor-κB (NF-κB/IκB) signal pathways play significant role in angiogenesis and wound repair after burns. This study aimed to investigate the preparation, characterization and pharmacodynamics of the total flavonoids composite phospholipids liposome of Oxytropis falcata Bunge (TFOFB-CPL) on deep II° burns to research its biological activity and underlying mechanism.

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) plays a crucial role in systemic autoimmunity and pathologic inflammation. Numerous studies have explored serum IL-6 levels in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and their correlation with disease activity. Here, we performed a meta-analysis to quantitatively assess the correlation between the serum IL-6 levels and SLE activity.

The location and size of necrotic lesions are primary factors that predict the prognosis in osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). The Japanese Investigation Committee (JIC) classification system, based on the location of the necrotic lesion, has been widely accepted and applied around the world. However, there is no report about whether the location of the necrotic area in lateral view may affect the prognosis predicted initially by the JIC classification.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disorder seen in age-dependent dementia. There is currently no effective treatment for AD, which may be attributed in part to lack of a clear underlying mechanism. Studies within the last few decades provide growing evidence for a central role of amyloid β (Aβ) and tau, as well as glial contributions to various molecular and cellular pathways in AD pathogenesis.

This case report described the diagnosis and treatment of a patient with ectopic bone injury due to high-pressure electric shock. A 24-year-old male patient suffered from burns that covered 50% of TBSA, including on limbs and torso, after coming into contact with 10-kV high-voltage electricity. A repeated Meek micrografting technique (MEEK) was applied for wound healing; skin grafts were cut into micrografts and expanded at a ratio of 1:4 to cover large areas after burn trauma.

The intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration is thought to be closely related to ingrowth of new blood vessels. However, the impact of anti-angiogenic factors in the maintenance of IVD avascularity remains unknown. Tenomodulin (Tnmd) is a tendon/ligament-specific marker and anti-angiogenic factor with abundant expression in the IVD.
