We present a simple surgical technique aiming to improve urine outflow through the common urogenital sinus in cloaca and facilitate drainage of existing hydrocolpos. The study included three cases of cloaca with associated hydrocolpos that were operated during the period 2022 through 2023. The patient is placed in the prone position for a standard posterior sagittal anorectoplasty.

Background/aims: Groove pancreatitis is a rare form of focal pancreatitis that affects the groove area. Since groove pancreatitis may be mistaken for malignancy, it should be considered in patients with pancreatic head mass lesions or duodenal stenosis to avoid unnecessary surgical procedures. The aim of the study was to document the clinical, radiologic, endoscopic characteristics, and treatment outcomes of patients with groove pancreatitis.

Successful reperfusion is a significant predictor of a good clinical outcome after mechanical thrombectomy (MT). However, some patients have a poor clinical outcome even with successful reperfusion. We aimed to study factors that predict a poor clinical outcome (90-day modified Rankin Scale ≥ 3) in patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (LVO) treated by successful MT within 6 h of symptom onset.

Background: There is a scarce research study on recurrent pneumonia in children, particularly in the developing world. This study aimed to analyse the clinical characteristics, risk factors and underlying causes of recurrent pneumonia in children.
Methods: It was a case-control study involved 87 children with ≥2 episodes of radiographically confirmed pneumonia in a single year or ≥3 episodes at any time with a radiographic clearing of densities between attacks.
