Background: People who smoke cigars often have misperceptions about the associated risks, contributing to rises in smoking rates. This study investigates the perceived warning effectiveness (PWE) of health warning labels (HWLs) on cigar packages. We tested the impact of warning type and warning size in the HWLs on PWE and other health outcomes.

Despite high rates of PTSD in persons with HIV (PWH) and poor HIV-related health outcomes associated with PTSD, an effective evidence-based treatment for PTSD symptoms in PWH does not exist.

Biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosing renal pathology and the procedure is required to be learned per ACGME guidelines for Nephrology Fellowship graduation. We describe the process for the planning and development of a new Nephrologist directed native renal biopsy program to increase the opportunity to train Nephrology fellows in this procedure. The article outlines the barriers, complications and lessons learned to developing the program, highlighting the key challenges and progress that has been made within a single American tertiary academic medical center.

Background: Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) remains as 1 of the major contributors to indirect pregnancy-related mortality and morbidity worldwide and disproportionately affects marginalized populations.

Objectives: In this scoping review, the authors sought to explore the socioeconomic, cultural, and health care access-related causes of global disparities in outcomes of pregnancy among individuals with RHD.

Methods: We performed a literature search of all studies published between January 1, 1990, and January 1, 2022, that investigated causes for disparate outcomes in pregnant individuals with RHD.
