Background: Cryotherapy with taxane infusion is a noninvasive strategy for preventing peripheral neuropathy (PN), but the efficacy of this approach has not been proven.

Methods: A systematic search was conducted, and 477 records were initially identified. The titles were screened independently by 2 reviewers.

Healthcare provider perspectives on integrating HIV care into cancer centers in Malawi, South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Background: In East and Southern Africa, treatment of people with concomitant cancer and HIV is complicated by siloed service delivery pathways, which exacerbate barriers to care and impact clinical decision-making. Integrating HIV care into cancer treatment centers may improve service delivery and overall patient outcomes.

Methods: We administered a questionnaire to clinicians and support staff at tertiary cancer referral centers in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and South Africa to assess level of concern about clinical management of people with HIV (PWH) and cancer, barriers to integrating HIV service delivery into cancer treatment delivery, and beliefs related to HIV, antiretroviral therapy (ART), and integrated care.

Methods: A systematic search of CINAHL, Cochrane Library, PubMed, and SCOPUS was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines.

Neck pain associated with headache attributed to rhinosinusitis: an observational study.

Background: Neck pain is common among people with headache, including migraines, tension headache, and cervicogenic headache. Neck pain has also been associated with self-reported sinus headache in individuals who were not formally diagnosed with headache attributed to rhinosinusitis (HAR). Neck pain, in individuals diagnosed with HAR according to the International Classification of Headache Disorders, has not been investigated.

DNA methylation at birth and IgE trajectories from birth to adolescence, different patterns between White and Asian.

Aim: We aim to assess association of DNA methylation (DNAm) at birth with total immunoglobulin E (IgE) trajectories from birth to late adolescence and whether such association is ethnicity-specific.

Methods: We examined the association of total IgE trajectories from birth to late adolescence with DNAm at birth in two independent birth cohorts, the Isle of wight birth cohort (IOWBC) in UK ( = 796; White) and the maternal and infant cohort study (MICS) in Taiwan ( = 60; Asian). Biological pathways and methylation quantitative trait loci (methQTL) for associated Cytosine-phosphate-Guanine sites were studied.

Influences of plant maternal effects, chemotype, and environment on the leaf bacterial community.

Plant individuals within a species can differ markedly in their leaf chemical composition, forming so-called chemotypes. Little is known about whether such differences impact the microbial communities associated with leaves and how different environmental conditions may shape these relationships. We used Tanacetum vulgare as a model plant to study the impacts of maternal effects, leaf terpenoid chemotype, and the environment on the leaf bacterial community by growing plant clones in the field and a greenhouse.

Adjuvant Therapy in Early Uterine Serous Carcinoma.

Objective: Uterine serous carcinoma (USC) is a rare diagnosis but associated with high mortality. There is limited data to guide adjuvant treatment decisions in early stage disease. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of adjuvant therapy on recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) in early stage USC.

Factors influencing evidence-based cardiovascular disease prevention programming in rural African American communities: a community-engaged concept mapping study.

Background: African Americans experience cardiovascular disease (CVD) disparities, and the burden is greatest in the rural south. Although evidence-based CVD prevention and management programs have been tailored to this context, implementation has been limited and not sustained long-term. To understand how to implement and sustain evidence-based CVD programs at scale, we must explore the perspectives of organizations serving rural African American communities and situate findings within foundational Implementation Science frameworks.

Simulated deep space exposure on seeds utilizing the MISSE flight facility.

The MISSE-Seed project was designed to investigate the effects of space exposure on seed quality and storage. The project tested the Multipurpose Materials International Space Station Experiment-Flight Facility (MISSE-FF) hardware as a platform for exposing biological samples to the space environment outside the International Space Station (ISS). Furthermore, it evaluated the capability of a newly designed passive sample containment canister as a suitable exposure unit for biological samples for preserving their vigor while exposing to the space environment to study multi-stressor effects.

This study aims to report the characteristics of boxing fractures that lead to presentation to the emergency room and evaluate the demographics and practices of the patients to prevent these injuries.

An adversarial transformer for anomalous lamb wave pattern detection.

Lamb waves are widely used for defect detection in structural health monitoring, and various methods are developed for Lamb wave data analysis. This paper presents an unsupervised Adversarial Transformer model for anomalous Lamb wave pattern detection by analyzing the spatiotemporal images generated by a hybrid PZT-scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (SLDV). The model includes the global attention and the local attention mechanisms, and both are trained adversarially.

Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility of aortoiliac CT-Angiography (CTA) using dual-source photon-counting detector (PCD)-CT with minimal iodine dose.

Methods: This IRB-approved, single-center prospective study enrolled patients with indications for aortoiliac CTA from December 2022 to March 2023. All scans were performed using a first-generation dual-source PCD-CT.

Varying Projection Quality of Good Local Electric Field Gradients of Monochlorobenzaldehydes.

Rotational spectroscopy is an excellent tool for structure determination, which can provide additional insights into local electronic structure by investigating the hyperfine pattern due to nuclear quadrupole coupling. Jet-cooled molecules are good experimental benchmark targets for electronic structure calculations, as they are free of environmental effects. We report the rotational spectra of 2-chlorobenzaldehyde, 3-chlorobenzaldehyde, and 4-chlorobenzaldehyde, including a complete experimental description of the nuclear quadrupole coupling constants, which were previously not experimentally determined.

An Omega-Hierarchical Extension Index for Second-Order Constructs With Hierarchical Measuring Instruments.

An index extending the widely used omega-hierarchical coefficient is discussed, which can be used for evaluating the influence of a second-order factor on the interrelationships among the components of a hierarchical measuring instrument. The index represents a useful and informative complement to the traditional omega-hierarchical measure of explained overall scale score variance by that underlying construct. A point and interval estimation procedure is outlined for the described index, which is based on model reparameterization and is developed within the latent variable modeling framework.

The Relationship between Various Measures of Perinatal Quality.

Objective: To examine the correlations between pairs of maternal, infant, and maternal-infant dyad quality measures to provide a comprehensive assessment of perinatal care.

Study Design: In a retrospective cohort study using birth and fetal death certificates linked to hospital discharge data from Michigan, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina (2016-2018), we examined correlations between pairs of maternal, infant, and maternal-infant dyad quality measures. Maternal quality measures included nulliparous term singleton vertex (NTSV) cesarean birth, non-transfusion severe maternal morbidity (SMM), and a composite maternal outcome.
