There are multiple acts of law and case law that govern UK prescribing practice. This article examines three important topics for nurses: the classification and prescribing of controlled drugs, including the meaning of medicine classes and schedules; the prescribing of unlicensed medicines, including the difference between unlicensed and off-license medicines; and negligence in prescribing practice. The article outlines the acts of law that are relevant to each topic and provides examples of significant case law or other legal rulings to demonstrate how the law is relevant to nurses' clinical practice.

Preclinical xenotransplantation research using genetically engineered pigs has begun to show some promising results and could one day offer a scalable means of addressing organ shortage. Expressway construction has caused a significant threat to the ecological environment in developing countries, and therefore the variation characteristics of ecological resilience along the expressway in developing countries are of major importance. This empirical study focuses on a typical area within a 2-km range of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway in Cambodia and uses remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) technology to analyze the variation characteristics of ecological resilience along the expressway. The results of the study reveal that due to the construction of expressways, the land use types transferred into or out of the land use types increase and furthermore the land use types show a trend of decreasing natural attributes and increasing human attributes.
