To identify any structural differences in macular choroidal thickness in migraine patients and compare them with that of control subjects by using spectral domain optic coherence tomography (SD-OCT). In this prospective study, choroidal thicknesses of 32 migraine patients during migraine attack-free period and 32 age- and sex-matched healthy subjects were measured using SD-OCT. All patients underwent a complete ophthalmic examination before the measurements.

Purpose: To iatients with neovascular age-related macular degenernvestigate the role of epiretinal membrane (ERM) on outcomes of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapy in pation (nAMD).
Methods: This study is a retrospective observational case series and was conducted at the Gazi University School of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. The reports of the patients with a diagnosis of new-onset nAMD, who were aged at least 50 years and treated with intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factors (ranibizumab or bevacuzimab) between October 2010 and September 2013 in our retina clinic, were reviewed for the vitreomacular interface changes.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of autologous serum on the rate of epithelial healing and clinical results after laser epithelial keratectomy (LASEK) for correction of myopia.
Materials And Methods: Thirty eyes of 15 patients received autologous serum drops (Study Group) while 30 eyes of 15 patients received conventional artificial tears (Control Group) after LASEK. LASEK was performed with 25-second application of 18% alcohol.

Background: Ovarian ischemia and reperfusion can lead to serious and irreversible health problems.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the protective effect of agomelatine against ovarian ischemia/ /reperfusion injury in rats using biochemical methods.
Material And Methods: Thirty female rats were divided into three groups (the number of animals in each group = 10), a control group in which ischemia/reperfusion was established (IRC), an ischemia/reperfusion + agomelatine (IRA) group and a healthy group given a sham operation (SG).

Pseudotumor cerebri is a condition of increased intracranial pressure in the absence of clinical, laboratory or radiological pathology. Spinal intradural hematoma formation after lumboperitoneal shunt (LPS) implantation is very rare, but it can cause sudden and serious deterioration. In this report, we present a patient who developed an intradural hematoma following LPS operation.

Objectives: This study investigated the effects of melatonin, famotidine, mirtazapine, and thiamine pyrophosphate on ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in diabetic rats and evaluated oxidant and antioxidant marker measurement results. It also examined the effects of the drugs aimed at preventing infertility that may result from I/R injury.
Materials And Methods: Diabetic rats were divided into a control group (IRC) to be exposed to I/R, an ovarian I/R + 2.

Aim: This study is a biochemical investigation of the effect of etoricoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 inhibitor, on ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury experimentally induced in rat ovaries.
Methods: Experimental animals were divided into four groups: (i) ovarian ischemia/reperfusion (IRG); (ii) 30 mg/kg etoricoxib + ovarian ischemia/reperfusion (EIRG-30); (iii) 60 mg/kg etoricoxib + ovarian ischemia/reperfusion (EIRG-60); and (iv) a sham operation (SG) control group.
Results: The results showed levels of malondialdehyde in the IRG, EIRG-30, EIRG-60 and SG group ovarian tissue of 20.

Glaucoma is characterized by chronic optic neuropathy resulting in progressive vision loss. Not only is glaucoma considered as a condition of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), but also other risk factors may play a role in the pathogenesis of glaucomatous optic nerve damage. Vascular dysregulation in ocular blood flow and oxidative stress are currently suggested as important risk factors for glaucomatous retinal ganglion cell loss.

Ischemia-reperfusion damage is a complex pathological process that begins with tissue anoxia and continues with the production of free oxygen radicals, expanding with the inflammatory response. The literature suggests the importance of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory treatment to treat ischemia-reperfusion-related tissue damage.

The oxidant/antioxidant balance in healthy tissues is maintained with a predominance of antioxidants. Various factors that can lead to tissue damage disrupt the oxidant/antioxidant balance in favor of oxidants. In this study, disruptions of the oxidant/antioxidant balance in favor of oxidants were found to be a consequence of the over-consumption of antioxidants.

Objective: We have previously shown that acute passive smoking impaired left ventricular diastolic function in healthy volunteers. The aim of this study was to determine whether length of exposure and/or ambient smoke concentration is the key determinant of this outcome.
Methods: We measured blood carboxyhemoglobin (COHb)and lactate level to investigate the acute effects of passive smoking on tissue oxygenation.
