Background: Harmine has many pharmacological activities and has been found to significantly inhibit the fibrosis of keloid fibroblasts. DNA damage repair (DDR) is essential to prevent fibrosis. This study aimed to investigate the effects of harmine on pulmonary fibrosis and its underlying mechanisms.

Chemo-dynamic therapy (CDT) based on the Fenton or Fenton-like reaction has emerged as a promising approach for cancer treatment. However, autophagy-mediated self-protection mechanisms of cancer cells pose a significant challenge to the efficacy of CDT. Herein, we developed metal-DNA nanocomplexes (DACs-Mn) to enhance CDT via DNAzyme inhibition of autophagy.

Rechargeable magnesium batteries (RMBs) are considered as one of the most promising candidates for next-generation batteries. However, the popularization of RMBs is seriously plagued due to the lack of suitable non-nucleophilic electrolytes and the passivation of Mg anode. Herein, a novel non-nucleophilic electrolyte is developed by introducing (s)-1-methoxy-2-propylamine (M4) into themagnesium aluminum chloride complex (MACC)-like electrolyte.

Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, Shigella flexneri, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium botulinum type A, Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens Alpha toxin, and Yersinia enterocolitica are 11 common foodborne pathogens. Traditional bacterial culture methods for detecting pathogens are time-consuming and labor-intensive. Multiplex PCR technology, which can detect multiple targets in a single tube, has been increasingly applied to microbial detection due to its high specificity, sensitivity, and fast response.

Previously, a dynamic in vitro rat stomach system (DIVRS-I) designed based on the principles of morphological bionics was reported. The digestibilities of casein powder and raw rice particles were found to be lower than those in vivo due to perhaps the less efficient compression performance and lower mixing efficiency. In this study, a 2nd version of the rat stomach system (DIVRS-II) with an additional rolling extrusion type motility on the wall of the soft-elastic silicone rat stomach model is introduced.
